Description

If you follow the dirtroad down to the valley, Right below camping Colibri (where dogs are not permitted) there's a parking lot where the local flower farmers park their cars during the day. At night it's very quiet and the views up to the cliffs are amazing. The farmers are very friendly. There are no facilities. We loved it! The road down is a bit steep but we made it with our 42 year old VW, so i guess most of the travellers will have no problems!

Defo need a 4x4 and good clearance (especially in wet season). Parking not far from the river is sheltered and peaceful. Road down near this is the worse!

Report Check-In

Its not a parkinglot. Its just a space next to the dirttrack. Gets very dark, very early. The river stinks like cowpee. The dirttrack down is very narrow, steep and bumpy. Assume the first guy, who posted this place got turned back at colibri and just used this one and now its on ioverlander. Not recommended.

We spent 3 nights here without any problems! Weren't there during the day, only after 7pm and in the mornings. A lot of people passing by, but all friendly. No people and cars after dark.

We asked Simon, who lives closeby, if we could stay here. He said of course, no one will bother us. Very friendly guy. Beautiful location in the valley. No facilities.

Right below camping Colibri ( where we couldn't stay with our dog) there is a level place surrounded by high Eucaliptus trees, which give shade for most of the day. Local people working on the nearby fields are friendly and once we came asked us for how many days we want to stay here :-)
