Midway NPS Campground | Established Campground

Nice busy campground. Have to book online. When we booked online it said it was full but the area we were in was not. There are running toilets. no showers but campground host said people that stay here can go to the next campground over to shower. No visible gators around the pond when we stayed. Lots of kids around. Just east of the campground there is a visitors centre we would highly recommend. Lots of upclose gators! We counted 25!!

Nice small campground, well groomed, #s’ 1 - 13 west side - sunny, #’s 14 - 28? East side shady, all sites circle the pond. RV sites are $30 night, have elec 50&30, concrete pads, picnic tables, & fire rings with cooking grates. All sites are back in. My rig is 40’ plus tow. Fit, with wee bit of room to spare.
Very dark & quiet at night, nice. Lots of bird chatter during day. Mosquitoes there, but not bad, surprised.
Signs all around pond say “Do Not Walk Pets Here” it attracts alligators. I made sure to walk my dog across road & away. Looked everyday, didn’t see gator in pond. But in Everglades … if you’ve got water …… you’ve got gators. So be cautioned.
I stayed 3 nights. Login to register & pay. Look at site map first, then choose & pay, I screwed up and parked in wrong spot. Had to move. People have favorites and are possessive. No big deal, I moved, (found the right one), and it was actually better. So make sure you pick the one you want carefully out of what’s available. There were many open sites the whole time.

This little hideaway is beautiful. Workers are nice. Had a nice 2 hour conversation with Ryan (military vet), we talked war stories. So there is no showers, but there is bathrooms. Dump station and about 10 ft away is potable water to fill up your fresh water tank, just no fill up spots at the individual camping spots. Last two thing is not really a place for pets. Gator in the pond that everything surrounds. And directly across the highway is the largest population of larger gators I have ever seen and I use to work in South Georgia with a lot of them. And at night the mosquitoes aren’t the worst I’ve dealt with but there is enough of them to make you stay indoors. Almost forgot, one bar service for all cell phone services. But starlink was perfect. All you Astrophotographers will love it.

Campground located in the Big Cypress National Reserve and not too far for the Everglades park.

30$ per night and you can book online on recreation.gov (but walk in is available)

Electric sites but no water.
Washroom but no shower.
No data coverage and not a lot of privacy between each sites.
Picnic table and fire pit at each sites.

Good view of a lake and pretty quiet (except for the sites near the entrance you can ear the traffic). Careful lot of animals here.
Host is nice.

Very quite and beautiful Campground. 30.-$ with electricity, Dumpstation and portable Water. Leveled and paved places with picnic tables and Fireplace (bring your own firewood). Every sizes of vehicles fitted. Reservations required. Gators across the road :-)
