Great big stop for travelers, separate from truck stop. Trucks do run their engines but there is a big dirt lot across the street that is quieter, laundromat, showers, toilets, restaurant, nice free retro car museum. Food! Even have some tools, toiletries, ice cream, shop. Reasonable gas prices. Wifi in shop. Part of parking lot.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
No longer "Russell's". Now "TA". closed for a few days while transitioning. Restrooms and Laundry open wilst change.
Report Check-InVery nice travel plaza with reasonably priced diesel fuel. We spent a quiet overnight in the area off to the left side marked as “RV Parking,” far from the truck parking area. We filled up here, grabbed a light dinner at the Subway inside, and had breakfast in the diner in the morning. The diner was ok, but not great. Ironically, the Subway was better. The free car and pop culture museum inside was unexpected and fun. We saw no signage regarding permissibility of overnight parking, but we did nothing to draw attention to ourselves, and it went fine with no knocks or questions. Honestly, one of the quieter stops we’ve had along the highway, even compared with official campgrounds.
Report Check-InNice quite night. Asked shop assistant and confirmed RV overnight parking ia OK. no water or dump station seen.
Report Check-InThis travel center is exceptionnal , clean, incredible car collection, restaurants, RV parking far from truck noises
Quiet at night, place to remember
Nice Travel/Truck Stop. Pulled in at 7:30PM, a few campers already settled but PLENTY of room. Big rigs parked on opposite side of building. Lighting is good & safe atmosphere.
Report Check-InExcellent place to stop. Tons of RV / van parking. Clean bathrooms. Great little dog park. Cheap gas. Very quiet
Report Check-Incoolest rest stop we’ve ever been to! clean bathrooms, wifi that stretches to parking lot, fairly quiet. water tastes kinda weird tho
Report Check-InYea, great place. the only thing it doesn’t have is a water theme park and movie theatre. Not sure about propane. I parked across the street in the dirt lot cuz the trucks were ‘running’ in the concrete area..
Report Check-InRussell’s Travel Center great place to stop. Very quiet. Parked on side away from trucks with a couple of other RV’S. Well worth the stop and visit for a quiet nights sleep!
Report Check-InVery clean bathrooms and center. Employees were extremely friendly and helpful. Lived in Texas 40 years , first trip here. Headed to Quartzite Arizona for first meetup!
Report Check-InRight off I-40. Lots of parking for RVs (big rigs) and trucks. Diner food was okay, men's bathroom could be cleaner, ladies room was clean. Wifi available in the parking lot. Showers are $12. Potable water at pumps 11, 12 and 23 (no hose since they keep growing legs). There's also a dog park and tire shop.
Report Check-InThe best truck stop travel center I've ever visited. Spent the night in my van. Restaurant, showers, laundry, store. and a free antique car museum! Right off I 40 on old route 66. Absolutely 💯 a treasure!
Thank you Russell
