Ecuador
Located inside the Metropolitan park. You can camp at any of the Miradors 1-5 (note: #2 doesn't exist) for $6us or $7us if you want to use the fire. It's a really nice place, we stayed at Mirador 4, it overlooks the city at night. Be aware that you need to get a reservation for your vehicle at the information office near the main entrance. The office is open from 7am-3pm. Diane at the information/admin office speaks perfect English. You must be in the park past the gates by 5:30pm (this is when they close the gates). You'll need to keep your ticket because the guards will come to check it in the evening. Clean bathrooms and tap available for washing hands and dishes. Felt very safe as there are guards at the main entrance of the park and they patrol the grounds, cctv and emergency buttons. There is a small Pueblo inside the park that has a small tienda and might be possible to get food but be warned this park is huge so you might be parked far away. Beautiful park with tons of trails to hike and get lost in. Plenty of playgrounds for kids and even Llama! Dog friendly.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
No overnight stays. This park now closes at night and no one is allowed to stay.
