Others' descriptions are spot on. $7 a night. Very quiet, with some walking/hiking and gravel biking opportunities. Great place to stop if your travels find you in this area in the afternoon.

Report Check-In

Very quiet. Nice open spaces with some trees. $7 a night seems cheap. Running water from faucets, with hose threads. No TP in picnic portoilet.

Got good Verizon. Quiet spot but the flys were brutal. Good trails to stretch your legs and fishing ponds are well stocked.

Report Check-In

Excellent Verizon service though the entire grasslands. Great fishing spots. Miles of off roading trails for any OHV. Point of rocks is a must see if your anywhere in the area.

Campground looks smallish. It was empty. I turned right before the pay board towards picnic area? Then a left on the road before picnic places. Dirt road with some sand traps, especially the “river” a dry sand bed. I stopped before river and camped there. More places further up the road, maybe with 4x4? Sand is the issue here.
Flys are relentless until sunset. Then on the wind I caught the familiar stockyard odor, which explained the flys…
Quiet, dry, and great cell coverage if you walk to the ridge. Owls and coyotes in the evening to be heard. I’d read wild camping is permitted in the grasslands.

This is a pretty spot, if you can get past the fire ant colonies & needle sharp burrs on the ground. We are at campsite 11 & maybe this is the only one this bad but we're not gonna walk around to find out. Had to bring our dogs inside the camper. Their pads were full of burrs & they couldn't walk. There is a cool breeze here, comfortable even in the 90s. If you have dogs, use caution. Very dry & arid here. No rain for weeks & it shows.
