Description
~1 mile down the road from the 'racetrack meadow' there is a National Forest campground (free) with picnic tables, fire rings and pit toilets. Nice area just by the creek. We were setting up camp at the 'meadow' when a local older gentleman came by and told us about this nice spot (not so open and more protected from the cold). He also mentioned there is another campground a further 1/2 mile down the road.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.

Report Check-InVery nice place to camp. There were several locals installed to spend the summer there. You can continue on the same road and it brings you to 2 or 3 other spots to camp. You can not ask for more and it's free. No dumpster so bring back your trash.
