I agree with things others have posted. Space for about three vans, but nothing level (we leveled with leveling blocks just fine). We didn’t see any glass or bones that’s someone else mentioned. Views were great. I’d stay here again.

as advertised, cloudy on our visit but amazing outlook. full bars for AT&T here.

Utterly breathtaking, mostly secluded campsite, and for no charge at that. Weather was pretty intensely rainy at first, but cleared up for the rest of the day after a few hours. Very unlevel ground, can probably fit around 3 cars on mostly level spots. Noticed other cars parking on nearby hilltops. No internet connection, no bathroom, no water. 20 minute drive to Painted Hills.

Nothing more to add than the previous reviews. A great place and the road up was in better condition than I expected. After being there a couple hours a group came in and asked to park with us. No problem. Everyone was courteous and we left super early in the morning. There was quite a bit of glass, so be careful with your pets and kids.

Stunninggggg views!!! Sunrise or sunset in all directions! Very quiet up here. Not level. Map attached. 26 to 207. Drive 207 about two miles to a gravel road on left. Drive about 2 miles to bluff on left side. Enjoy!!!

great camp spot, beautiful view. tons of room to roam around, this is BLM land. the spot isn't very level but we used our leveling blocks, which worked perfectly. just know there's bones/animal crap around. We saw a giant hare!

great camp spot, beautiful view. there is tons of space if you have a dog, just know there could be bones or animal crap around. even had T-Mobile hotspot work here.

Wow! This spot is the best spot for over landing camp. Beautiful view, a little windy. Bring firewood

Report Check-In

My husband and I came up to this spot around 9:50pm and we were able to find the spot. We don’t know the area well and it was really hard to scope our surroundings. What we did find were bones near the rock fire pit which freaked us out pretty large bones might be of an animal but we did not stay the night for that reason.

Report Check-In

Located on a ridge 100 yards off the access road. The spot is big enough for a few vans. Rock fire ring, but seems like it might be too windy up here most night to safely have an open fire (someone did pay forward and leave some nicely split firewood though).
Beautiful 360 views of the valley and all surrounding mountains.
We saw other dirt roads on our way that seem to suggest other camp spots in the areas lower down.
Trees are not dense, so you can hike freely in any direction.

Report Check-In

We camped close to this location, but in a pull out on the main dirt road. There was no level spot at the overlook noted by the first poster. This was still a nice overnight with only a single vehicle driving by at night. Small rigs only

Report Check-In

Beautiful location. Not the most level for tents, but you can level a pickup or we managed to level our double cot.

There is room to hang one hammock if you have long tree straps.

Report Check-In

Easy to find, close to small town of Mitchell, and Painted Hills monument.
2 trees for shade otherwise very open with views overlooking miles of open land.
Single vehicle for privacy.
