Border between South Africa and Lesotho. Easy and hassle-free.

Leaving South Africa: Stamped Passports. TIP (Temporary Import Paper) was not even touched and can be used entering SA again.

Entering Lesotho: Stamped Passports (no Visa or anything required; EU Citizens). No TIP or Carnet de Passage needed. Paid Road Tax (80 ZAR for Cars heavier than 2,000 KG). That's it. Altogether it took 10 Minutes.

Easy border, everything goes quick. 80 rands fee for normal vehicles. Make sure you have it in cash, because there's no way to pay with card. Both SA Rands and Lesotho Loti are accepted

Park at the SA side and walk to immigration, before driving up to the border control. Same at the Lesotho side. No fresh fruits and vegetables are allowed into Lesotho, but we got away with a warning (and could keep all our fresh fruits and vegetables :-)). Nobody checked inside the vehicle.

Extremely easy border crossing ( British passports) into Lesotho. 10 mins max. 80 rand for the car, just showed our passports.

Very simple, quiet and quick border crossing from SA into Lesotho. Everyone was very friendly. Road tax for Lesotho is R80 for car or motorbike. Road is perfect tar on both sides.

Lesotho was simple and easy but we found the officers in the SA side on a power rampage. It's out 6th border in SA, but the slowest one. They were very peaky, arrogant and even intrusive.

going from SA to Lesotho. very quick border (15 minutes for the 2 sites, nobody, no queue), just stamps to the immigration and paid 75 rands for Lesotho tax road with receipt (55 if you have a local car or 125 if you have a truck). all the prices are written and you can pay with SA notes. no bribes. friendly people at the 2 sides. no more covid restrictions.

You need to do rapid test on SA side. 300 rand. SA immigration stamped our exit. No queue

Says on Google that it's closed, but it's open. Very friendly and easy border crossing. You pay a 70 rand fee. All official. Entire process took less than 1 hour.
