When I read the reviews it seems like its a small camping, but its not. Is just smaller than Skukuza or other ones around Kruger.
I actually liked this one better.
There is a nice restaurant with a beautiful view (but no public area where you can enjoy it, only if you are in the restaurant). Also the wifi (in restaurant) is pretty bad.
The camping site is nice, private and has everything you need. Just could have more light.

We booked online and were lucky to get the last available camping spot, on arrival there were 20-30 open spots at sundown! Likely a good chance you can roll in and get a spot. Also, no one checked our papers checking In or out, If you're on a tight budget ;)
also, wifi at MuggNbean is slower then postal mail, wouldn't rely on it for getting much done. Otherwise, great place :)

Nice region for game driving and the river view from the restaurant is beautiful but the campsite itself has tiny pitches too close to each other, few places with shade and it's quite crowded. We've been to 5 other campsites in Kruger and this one was our least favorite. Good 4g with Vodacom and free wifi at Mugg and Bean restaurant.

small camp with all the amenities not busy this time of year

small camp not busy this time of the year peaceful

Report Check-In

Camp was fully occupied, the bungalows too. Lots of fires around the camp, on the way from Pretoriuskop and to Crocodile bridge.
Ablutions okay, water hot

Report Check-In

It was crowded just like the other Kruger campsites.
R485 for two adults and two children.

Stopped for lunch at M&B. Pleasant experience, reasonable prices and efficient service with a smile. Nice location! Otherwise impressed with the general upkeep and maintenance of this camp.

Report Check-In

Very crowdy and commercial. Not our first choice. For really big rigs too much low hanging branches and the sites are very small. We parket at the old gate, not at the site. It was too small and too tight. The best is the view from the restaurant to the river.

Nice and quiet stay here; love the viewing from the deck.

Great well prepared camping. Shop where you can buy bread and meet, good restaurant with quite reasonable prices, campsites with electricity. Ablutions ok, kitchen with boiling water 24/7 to make a tea. Around the campsite there is a lot of wildlife!

Report Check-In

Way too small and busy for my liking...Mug and Bean restaurant with slow wifi for a coffee or meal if you feel like it. It is a shame how commercial and busy Kruger is and how you have 25 cars at any cat sighting but that’s Kruger....

Love the wildlife viewing from the restaurant deck! Saw lions hunting. Waterbuck, buffalo and lots of birds. Camp sites small but adequate. Game drives from here are great too. Saw tons of elephants, leopard kill in tree (but no leopard 😕) and of course all sorts of other lovely animals en route to Skukuza.

We did the same, drove from north to south in February with no reservations. But this year it was very quiet and there was plenty of space also in Lower Sabie.
For us the most expensive camp in Kruger R 333,30 for two people p night.
The view from the restaurant is beautiful. The camp is situated in the middle of a good game drive area which make it worth to visit. The camp itself is not the nicest with the small spots.

(We also did a night drive from out here, R242,40 pp. You're going in a bigger truck for 20 people I think. 3 people getting a big torch to help the driver with shining and everyone helps to find the shimmering eyes. So you can also bring your one torch and don't forget you camera flash! We had a wonderful leopard hunt.)

Price campsite R305 2 and car.
Campingspots are small but Oké. It is only for the night, right.
The restaurant has a beautiful view over the Sabie river. You see a lot of game.
And just outside the camp you can spot a lot of different animals. We liked it!

We drove from north to south in early to mid February and didn't need a reservation anywhere - except here! Just 28 sites and it gets fully booked. We were in site 32 which is small, but has quite a lot of plant cover and seems to be more private than the majority of sites. Wildlife viewing in the area is excellent and it's fun to treat yourself to a meal at the Mugg & Bean with their nice deck.

Having read other comments we were expecting better from this camp, yes there is a good view of river from the restaurant but the place feels very busy, it's a small tight spaced camp. The actual campsite is very small and feels very enclosed by all the plantings almost claustrophobic.
we had originally booked two nights here but felt it only justified the one and so changed booking.
'lower sabie' is nearer the bottom of our favourite sites in the park, certainly not at the top.
That said we had superb 3 lion sighting just 200 metres from the camp on the way out the next morning.
we stayed end Nov 2016.
paid R290

Campsite isn't the nicest in the park.. large, busy and squashed! No fence spots! Ablutions are ok, they were updating when we were there. Laundry on site.
Restaurant is mugg and bean so take what you like from that, but the view is great!
Not sure on prices per night as we didn't pay.. all on website!
