We recommend taking his vehicle. Fun experience driving in his 1960 hunk-o-junk. Plus, the road to the caves is awful.

Fernando also provides a nice bottle of wine at the end of the trail. He also will do EVERYTHING he can to make sure you have awesome pictures of the caves. Super nice guy and highly recommended.

The caves and red mountains are beautiful.

HERMOSA EXCURSIÓN A LAS CUEVAS DE ACSIBI. Fernando Aban el mejor guia del pueblo, Fuimos a la excursión en nuestra Renault Kangoo de tracción simple sin problemas, son 20 km en vehiculo ida y vuelta (40 en total) y una caminata de 3 a 4 hs (8 km) al llegar a las cuevas, Fernando tiene mesas y sillas donde descansar, almorzar y pasar un buen momento junto a él que muy atento, en el lugar nos invito a degustar un vino de altura, LA MEJOR EXCURSIÓN DEL NORTE

It’s a beautiful walk in a read canyon who leads to the Cuevas (look at the pictures). But you need a guide to go there, so we recommand Fernando Aban (+5493875798822), he works in the municipal camping in the evening. He brought red wine and fruit juice and he had a table hidden behind the rocks so we were like in a beautiful restaurant with him. It cost 1200 ARS/prs if you have a 4x4 and 2000 ARS/prs if he has to rent one. The excursion takes about 6 hours (2 hours drive, 3 hours walk and 1 hour eating and visiting the caves)
