Latest Check-Ins

Beautiful campsite, well maintained, interesting buildings and structures that complement the Castle. Well worth it!

Report Check-In

Nice, big sites with water, trees, table and benches. Friendly people. Would recommend. 195pppn. The castle next to can be visited as well, costs 80pp.

Very nice place overlooking the castle. We first went to At Kronenhof, but they were full. In the end this place had more charm and we enjoyed our stay. Very affordable (165pp) for what you get.

Nice clean camp sites, cost N$160 per person.
Also has chalets, serves breakfast and swimming pool.

Duwisib Guestfarm has a nice campsite with friendly owners. The Castle camping is closed, day visitors are welcome.

Report Check-In

As reported before: a very nice, well maintained, privately operated camp site with very friendly and hospitable owners, also offering nice dinner (at a reasonable price) and rooms (DBB as well as self catering)
Now N$160 ppn

The neighboring NWR camping is currently [2Feb2022] closed, reopening should be „soon“ … but looks a bit uncertain …

Visit to the castle is possible, provided the guarding feels like turning up … the owners may help you chasing him up …

Very nice place. Each site with light, sink, braii stand with net and picnic table. No power plug at campsite.
Showers are hot and ablution clean and well maintained.
At the reception there is a nice lounge you can sit, also restaurant. There is also WiFi at the reception (they didn't charge us extra to login). We asked the owner to chrage our electronics at the reception as there's no power plugs down at the camp. (3 min walk).
Swimming pool is there as well.
There is a nice short hike / car trail up the hill for sunset with stone picnic table built up top and beautiful views.
The castle officially close at the moment but the guy who take care of it can do tours and open it for you if you're lucky. He chrage 70 dollars pp. We skipped the offer...

We saw other reviews saying the rate is 100pp/pn. In our case the lady at reception told us 150. We told her we thought it's 100, to that she replied it's must be a special discount because the rate is 150.
We decided not to make a big deal out of it and pay 300 for the both of us.
All in all, even at that rate it's still pretty nice place for a chill day.
Not much to do around as the owner said himself, but sometimes that's a good thing :)

still perfect as described, much better than NWR camp (which is closed at the moment, as is the castle), 100 pppn

Great spot. Lovely management. View on Castle. Superclean facilities. Much better then neighbours of our friends of NWR, who run a diesel generator until 7PM. Just no electricity...

Go and enjoy.

Well maintained campside! Wifi at the reception! We payed 130 pppn kids under 6 stay for free!

Report Check-In

There are 2 campsites near the castle and we preferred the one of Duwisib Guesthouse, as it has very good views onto the castle (100 meters away), nicer ablutions, a pool to use and cheaper. 130 NAD per person (NWR Campsite is 170 pp and does not include the castle entry ticket which is 70 pp for International Gieses, only if you stay at their castle for 970 NAD).

Duwisib Guestfarm has 5 nice spots, each with water, braai and table. No electricity. Ablutions are very clean with hot water. 120 N$ pp/pn. 200 metres from Duwisib Castle.
