Description

Medicine Lake is set back from route 17 behind George lake. The access road to Medicine Lake is a 2 lane oiled and well traveled road easily traveled by a big rig. Medicine lake access road 2 leads to a large solid gravel area in which a big rig can turn around in. It has multiple fire rings and appears to be an area that locals use for fishing access and ATV play. There is evidence of camping, but no one was here when we arrived. There are many mosquitoes. We heard boats on the lake until sunset and there was light road noise from the highway. No signs about camping or anything else.

Very nice spot close to the lake, but with difficult access to it. Lot of mosquitos and flys buts that's normal for the region.. No problems for a 2wd vehicle, space for few vehicles. Be careful to the sandy parts of the spot, can get stock there. Calm. Fonus phone service low 4g.

We stopped here for an hour to check it out. Has an upper level where there is a ton of room for camping, some sandy, grassy, gravel, several fire pits. An outhouse type structure which we didn’t look into. Trail near the sandy area that goes down to the beach and lower level. Lower level road is a little further down the road, it is quite steep, we didn’t attempt it but saw a car having trouble getting up the hill but they made it. The lower level is a beautiful shallow beach, clear water, grassy area, a few fire pits and several areas cleared for camping. There is a fish cleaning station, a thunder box, a tarp for a shower. Down at the end of the beach there is a rocky area where we attempted fishing. This is crown land so free.

Beautiful lake. Several spots, some directly on the water. A large area with several campsites have a small path to the lake. The most beautiful site seems to have a long term user in the summertime. First time we came in august they were set up with their rig. In September the site was open.

Great spot. With truck and camper about 56’ and no issues in or out. Very quiet and peaceful. Not great access to water. But for just a night stay highly recommend.
