Description

Extensive site next to the river. Trees and bushes for wind protection. There are looping tracks and some litter so people come here. Very quiet. Don't follow Maps.me, their route doesn't exist but the ioverlander one is true. The track passes through some small holdings which feels ominous but at the river it's fine. there are some fire circles and plenty of wood for a camp fire. Nobody came while I was there.

the place is closed, impossible to reach the river

Report Check-In

There’s a gate with a lock, we weren’t able to access the site. The road there is super bumpy. We tried finding something else close by but everything was pretty trashy. Don’t bother coming down by here, not worth the time... a Cópec or Petrobras parking lot would be better. We ended up finding a nicer spot about 1 hour away north look for “Caballito Desperado”.

Good place to stop relatively near route 5, you can still hear the highway in the distance but otherwise quiet. There’s not much of a river in the end of summer, more a small lake and a tiny stream. Some machine activity starting around 9-10 am. We pitched our tent in the opening of the forest. Bit creepy with lots of bones, but otherwise good. Loads of firewood. Clean now.

The original pin is now a construction site but it was quiet when we arrived. We drove past it and found lots more riverside spots. Saw at least 3 other vehicles while we were here. Buggy at night and you can hear Ruta 5, but a decent enough spot. Up by the original pin we saw people swimming, but down by us the water was slow and full of algae. Beautiful sunset.
