There are 16 Dispersed campsites further up the road (free) from the Curtis Canyon campground. Just keep in mind if you stop and stay in an unapproved campsite the Forest Rangers will give you a $500 fine so get here early and set up camp if you can find a place.

Spent a lovely quiet night here. But there was a sign saying the camp closed (for the winter) 16th September.
It was $20 a night, toilet and water available. The road in was great for 1/2 the way, but very potholes the rest of the way. We made in in our 21 ft motor home
Great campground. Amazing views of the Tetons of you walk out of the campground. Clean pit toilets and drinking water. $20 a night. We did see people disperse camping past the campground for free. Just go to the campground and then continue driving past it and you should find some good parking spots with great views of the Tetons. Would recommend from two females.
Report Check-InVery nice location. Road was leveled dirt and passable by most cars (though we have 4x4). Checked in at noon and there were more than half the sites available.
Report Check-InCampground itself has pit toilets and potable water, $10 for a site, cheaper firewood than in town, poor service. Dispersed camping past the campground has better views and more space. Okay service, very friendly and concerned camp host. About 25-30 minutes from downtown Jackson.
Report Check-InGreat campground, this is part of National Forest. They do, have a pit toilet and potable water. We stayed in #2 and had 5G and could stream. They totally repaired the road, and anyone can get up to the campground as of today.
Report Check-Innice campsite and very quiet. we arrived at 6pm and were the first, so we could choose the best spot (non is flat). max 30 feet allowed.
it is 30 min drive from Jackson, because of the road. we have a RV 24 feet, no (4wd) and it was okey if we drove slowly.
20 dollar if you are with van or rv, 10 dollar for tent. full at night, mayve early in high season (today was saterday 8th of June). we didn't see elk of bear. we a a lot of parapente storting from the hill at the campsite. was fun for the children.
National Forest service is working on the road so campground is closed until they're done. expected to re-open later this summer 2024.
Report Check-In4x4 and High Clearance recommended. Attempted the free camping further down the road but turned around halfway as roads were very tough to navigate in a one-ton truck w Truck box camper.
Report Check-Invery rough road from the Elk refuge to this camp. definitely need high clearance and good tires.nice view from above the campground but none of the sites has views. price is now $20/$10 with senior discount. water available.
Report Check-InBeautiful place to camp for the night. Quiet & peaceful. Roads were REALLY rough, but we made it back in our Promaster 3500. Campground filled up pretty early. We got the last available spot at 7pm on a Thursday night.
Report Check-InCorrection: 25 ft camper ** Campsites might not be big enough for much larger rigs.
Report Check-InCampground over the elk refuge, gorgeous scenic drive but the road is rough for the last 1.5 miles We were able to pull our 35 ft camper up though so doable. $20/night, just opened for the summer. There is also a free campground farther up the road but still closed at this point due to snow. First come first serve for both. Cell service very weak to none, there are toilets, as well as picnic tables and fire rings at most campsites.
Report Check-InNF campground. $15 per night. Sites were available Monday and Tuesday prior to 5pm. Filled up Monday. 2 open sites on Tuesday night. Vault toilets. Women's in culdesac was closed due to over flowing. It did not smell well. Quiet and clean sites. Bear boxes, picnic table and fire pits.
Report Check-InGreat little campground! Road was a bit rough to get there but with high clearance we did it just fine. Close to Jackson (about 15 minutes). Campground filled up pretty early though.
We camped in site 9 which had a great open area behind it.
Once you come up to the campground sign, to the right is the campground that you pay for, if you go further up where the terrain gets difficult, all of those sites are free! Beautiful scenery! We made it to site 9 in a Honda CRV going slow and made it just fine!
Report Check-InBad roads. Turned around in our Promaster, did not make it to a site.
Report Check-Inclosed for winter from today. really tasty water. disperced camping sites down the road are still open.
