Something not right?

Description

We had one quiet night with no troubles in our camper van.

No "no overnight sign" and really close to a residential area. Right down from the Mississippi neighborhood where there's lots of coffee shops, restaurants, bars, etc.

It’s a local neighborhood. Please clean up after yourselves and be respectful. If you’re in a clapped out rig that leaks anything or need a bathroom, then please move along. This is also a school zone and falls under more stringent laws, and yes they get enforced here especially when it comes to looking out for local kids. Leave no trace.

Spent a couple different nights here. Quiet, lots of vans parked. Left around 5 or 6am. No issues.

Regresamos después de unos meses de haber estado aquí. Algunos ruidos de una discusión a las 3pm pero duró poco y se fueron. Pasamos una noche tranquila y silenciosa sin problemas. Otras 4 vans durmieron alrededor del parque. Full barras Verizon.

We are back after a few months of being here. Some noise of an argue at 3pm but it didn't last long and they left. We had a peaceful and quiet night with no problems. Another 4 vans slept around the park. Full Verizon bars.

Report Check-In

All great till 3:30am when we heard an argument behind the van and it turned into a shoot out in which our van was the shield for one of the shooters.
Lasted about 2 minutes and we hit the road as soon as they left. Hope no one else has the same experience.

Estuvimos un par de noches. Lugar tranquilo y seguro. Silencioso. Baños cerca. Habían otros campers. 5 barras Verizon.

We stayed a couple of nights. Calm and safe place. Bathrooms available during day time. Other campers slept here. 5 bars Verizon.

Report Check-In

A quiet spot near a park and close the Mississippi Street for food and drink. Definitely in a residential area, so it's good to be respectful of the neighbors.

Report Check-In

Stayed here 2 nichts with our 22ft motorhome, together with some other Campers. Felt safe.

Report Check-In

Really quiet square, stayed right on it, there were plenty of other vans on all sides of park and seemed like a friendly area. Really close to Mississippi Ave. where you can get tasty eats and drinks! Only downside was that the washrooms for the park were closed for the season. Stayed one night.

Report Check-In

Quiet during the night and bust during the afternoon but such a great vibe. 4LTE Verizon bars

Report Check-In

Stayed two nights here. Left during the day and parked in different spots each night. A few other vans/bus were here, most didn’t move. Has one bathroom that’s open and clean. As to someone else’s experience we Felt very safe, our bikes are locked to our bike rack, and no one messed with them (which I recommend for anyone staying in any big city)

So this is actually the neighborhood we lived in Portland prior to van life and we stayed here while visiting because we always saw campers and skoolies here. First, don’t overstay your welcome. The neighborhood is super welcoming of travelers and weirdos from all over, but we have witnessed vans or skoolies stay here for weeks. Not cool. This is the neighborhood dog park (if you have a dog this is the place for you), the preschool visits almost daily with their kids, etc. also, speaking as someone who lived in this neighborhood, this is not the “rough part of town” by any means. North Portland is older and historically black. A few blocks down is the popular and cool Mississippi st. Now that being said because it is a more popular part of town, there are the homeless and addicted. If you’re going to visit Portland, get used to it. Don’t leave valuables visible in your front cab or on the outside of whatever vehicle you have. If you have a sports camper with toys on your racks etc you will get something stolen. Bikes get stolen by the hundreds in Portland. Anyway! We stayed here three nights and changed positions every night so we didn’t hog up a curb. Thanks and have fun in PDX

Side of street parking. Woke up in the middle of the night to my things being taken off my back rack. Didn’t get up early enough and they drove off. Rougher side of town no doubt. Drove all the way from Texas without having a single thing stolen and have been stolen from twice in Oregon. Such a sad place to be now.

Super quiet night! 3 other vans here parked by the square and no one bothered us.

Report Check-In

Really great street parking in Portland. Several other vans and RV parked around the square overnight. We felt very safe and loved the neighborhood. Take a walk down to Mississippi Ave for shops, bars, restaurants, and coffee. Bathrooms are still locked, but garbage cans available.

I stayed here last night & had no issues. I parked along the square (half a block down ish from the coordinates). Pretty quiet had no issues.

Nice neighborhood near the cool Mississippi district of Portland. Lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance. Stayed two nights on one of the streets near the park and was not bothered.

This place is absolutely perfect! Many RV‘s and campers around. HOWEVER some folks are running generators outside their rigs which I think asks a bit much of the neighbours! Personally I’d request that we as van dwellers be a bit more respectful of our impact. Would be a shame to lose such a beautiful spot due to noise complaints or the like.

We stayed on this street 2 nights! Awasome place in front park and a lot of restaurantes near us. Very quiet neighborhood. Taken care with this place because it’s amazing

Report Check-In

Didn’t stay in this exact spot, I stayed in the neighborhood nearby, along the street. It was really quiet and I felt safe. A lot of people out walking dogs late night and early morning but no one bothered me. I left early morning since I am car camping and not in a van with privacy. Would recommend though, it was quiet and safe.

Report Check-In

We parked on a street next to the square around 5pm and settled in for the night with no issues. Parking wasn’t super flat, but it worked for a night.
The only thing that disturbed us around 6pm was a potential break up happening in the car behind us. Poor guy....

Report Check-In

No problems staying here for two nights. No bathrooms though as they are locked for the season. We had to go to a local cafe which was about 5 minute walk away! Safe neighborhood.

Report Check-In

Quiet, barely any traffic at night, no homeless, wide street, ample room, saw an RV and two other camper rigs.

Report Check-In

Looked quiet, but bathrooms locked when we were there and no porta poty. We didn't stay.

Report Check-In

Great area to stay night or two. Quiet neighborhood but walking distance to great breweries and restaurants. There were several campers and buses parked along the street and no one seemed to care. As always, be respectful as people live here.

Report Check-In

Stayed here for a few nights. Street parking on park side seemed to only be used by a few vehicle dwellers (locals parked in driveways/street parked on other side). Bathrooms were locked when we checked, but porta potty on the other side of the park did just fine. Very quite. Also close to some really great eateries and local shops.
