Travelling with a friend, we both have vans (a Transit and Promaster). Enough room for both of us, though my friend almost got stuck in some sand so be careful where you park. Most of it is fine. Very quiet. Beautiful view of the lake. **We went for a walk around the fishing lodge up the road. Took a small short cut thru the woods to get back to the road and when we got back to our vans all 3 of us had ticks!! one crawling inside hubby's sock, one crawling inside friend's shirt and one latched onto my arm (luckily we saw it and removed it right away). So be careful when near any grass or brush!

Nice spot, had to wait for an ice fisherman to finish up since his vehicle was in the way. no worries, just parked nearby and took a walk. quiet, I think 1 or 2 cars drove by. a bit dirty, garbage from crappy people, suspect it gets used as a bonfire party spot. Cass Lake is amazing, beautiful views and faces west so good for sunset.

Report Check-In

good spot occasional vehicle passing cleaner than many others though I think wind pushes anything floating up on the beach. No bugs for us in September. T-Mobile Network here.

Great spot right on the lake. Beautiful views, good cell service. You may have a hard time finding firewood. You'll get some traffic going to save from the lodge down the road and you can hear boats one the lake but it's nice and quiet otherwise.

Beautiful spot near the beach. As other people have mentioned, it does have a funny smell, but nothing terrible. It smells a little fishy because of the lake. The sunsets here are gorgeous. 5G T-Mobile signal, which I'm using to post this.

Thought I was going to be watching a sunset here, but the SMELL was overpowering. Stayed long enough for a bong rip then found a better spot. Excellent Verizon service though 😂

Report Check-In

Stayed here for two nights to enjoy and relax. Would come back again. Unfortunately can’t got in the lake right now due to algae muk. Was going to stay another night but the mosquitoes was driving me crazy. There is Verizon Service.

Great spot for a night or two! Very quiet and peaceful. Lake was beautiful although smelled a bit foul.

Great spot right on the lake! We did not swim in the lake as it did have a strong smell, but great spot none the less. There is a resort a half mile up the road and the gravel road is well maintained to get to the spot. Perfect place to stay! Had three bars with Verizon

There are a few spots right on the lake that class B vans can fit. There is a camp ground that you have to reserve at the end of the road, but these few spots are free and it’s first come first serve. I have 2 bars of T-Mobile and 2 bars of Verizon. The lake smells of Dead Sea critters, but it’s not overbearing, but there is definitely a smell. Plenty of tree coverage too. Very pretty

The drive out was on a very smooth gravel road. You could get two maybe three vehicles here. Fire pit is nice.

Nice, fairly quiet little spot on the lake. A local lady out walking stopped to tell me there was s young bear in the area looking for food so to stay on my guard. Saw footprints in the morning, but no issue. If you walk up the hill there’s a fire ring overloooking the water that is pretty cool.

Easy to get to spot on a lake! Sign says it’s an official dispersed camping site.
We enjoyed the fire pit right on the edge of the lake.
Beach area has a fishy smell to it and water a bit murky, so we didn’t swim.
Overall a lovely relaxing spot.

We did have a couple bars of cell service with Verizon.

3 campsites, 1 large enough for an RV or tow behind, 1 large enough for a van or very small RV and 1 big enough for a car or tent. Fire ring in 2 of the 3. Beautiful views of the lake.

Beautiful site even though spring hasn’t quite settled in yet. Someone reported us to police and a Leech Lake Tribal Police came. I showed him the dispersed camping sign and he let us be. Very kind officer.

This is a Dispersed Campsite in the Chippewa National Forest. Excellent spot to relax on a big lake!

Report Check-In

Unfortunatly you are only allowed to stay here for two weeks. I think up to 9 meters should be okay. Maybe more. We stood here with a 23 ft RV and that was easy.
Trees are around you. You have your own beach. Please, please, please keep this place clean.

What an awesome place! Beautiful sunset views, fire pit, private location. Nothing like hearing the waves crashing while sleeping.
