Enter through metal detector. Wear proper clothing and bring photo ID. Check in at RECEPTION in room on front left. Explain you need the Customs, Excise and Trade office (currently Mr. Patrick Hyman) on second floor. Show ID, get badge, go upstairs and check in with guy in chair. Cubicle in left corner will do your paperwork in about 20 minutes. We were granted 15 days additional. Note- they are closed for lunch from 12-1 and you will not be permitted up.

Ask where the reception desk. There inform them you are a tourist and that you need to extend your vehicle permit. They will give you a badge and instruct you to go to the second floor. Look for the small corner cubicle at the end of the hallway on the left. They will assign a customs agent. Give them the TIP you got in Lethem, your vehicle’s title or registration and they will prepare a new TIP for you. I had to wait 30 minutes for the manager to arrive to get it signed.

We had our TIP renewed in 2 hours. We had to go at the 2nd floor and ask for Mr Wills. If you need an internet connection, 100 meters on the left looking the Revenue Authority building you'll find a bar/restaurant. The shop below has a very fast wifi.

First you get a visitors badge from reception. Then you can go to the 2nd floor (not 4th as they may tell you...) where you can get a renewal. For us it took only 10 mins or so.

Having entered from Suriname we had no Permit to Drive to extend (they only seem to issue these at the Lethem border) but we did have to extend our TIP On entry from Suriname they gave us personally 90 days but only 15 days for the TIP. Extending it here to 30 days wasn't a problem, but check it carefully before you leave the building - ours had a mistake on it and we had to go back next day.

It only took about 40 minutes in total for us, but there were no lines. They told us the maximum extension was 2 weeks, but they only give us 11 days. Remember you need to also extend your driving license permit, which is done downstairs in the back of the room.

At the Guyana Revenue Authority; 200-201Camp Street, Georgetown you can extend your Permit to Drive. Please wear proper cloth, no Shorts, no Muscleshirts, no Tanktops, no FlipFlops. They need about 2hours time to do the hole process. But we could extend from 3 days up to 1month.
