This place is really beautiful. Right at the river and border with Belize, you can hear the sounds of the environment around it. The restaurant was closed the first night we slept there. Second day we had a small shrimp cocktail each for $80. Delicious!
Only downside now, they are working on the Tren de Maya project and truck come in daily from 7 am until 9 pm to pump water out of the river. It will take until at least end of 2024 to finish the project.
We were there for a Saturday night as well, so there was also noise from locals and fishermen until 3 am.
Data reception is limited. Toilets only open when the restaurant is open. A bit of trash here and there.
Report Check-Inwe were alone, no Restaurant open, a bit trash, grassy area to wet to Park, but other spaces, nice and quite night, not to far from the mainroad
Report Check-InSpent a very quiet night here. We had shrimp cocktail, and a seafood soup/chowder that was amazing. $200 pesos for full dinner for 2. No fee for camping. Owners are very nice.
Report Check-InThere is a small blue building where they serve beers and cerviche and a couple other food options. The owner was nice and told me I could park overnight by the trees and next to the river. There are a few small boats owned by locals that launch from there. Be aware no one lives there and there is no night security. When I woke up there were a lot of bees buzzing around.
Report Check-InThis place is bliss. The owner of the small cantina is super nice.
I parked on the grass, in the shade of the trees, next to horses eating their grass, 5 meters from the clear fresh water of the river.
Amazing, quiet and welcoming. Probably busier on weekends, there was only one group of locals on one of the pontoons when I was there. Parking and night for free.
