We went to have a look. Campsite was more like a construction area besides the pool and restaurant, “ablutions” would have been the toilet and shower in the restaurant, and the price was 28.000mkw (!)/pppn. We didn’t stay. Went back to Zua Safari Lodge instead. Do the same!

Now 24 000 kw pp (14$), not worth it for us. View & pool are nice but not really a campsite even, you’ll camp near the pool watching maintenance guys all over and use restaurant toilets/showers.

Wanted to camp but could not get in as the main gate only allows vehicles at height of max. 3.4m which we found out after arrival. Thus big rig NOT possible! Difficult 4x4 gravel road to camp but possible.

The campsite is quite pricey for what you get (14.000 kwacha pp). All the river campsites are no longer accessible, they only have one spot next to the pool with little privacy. Views are nice from the lodge and pool area.

A really lovely lodge near the entrance of Majete NP. It's perhaps 5 minutes from the gate, although the driveway is very steep and bumpy! A beautiful setting right on the river with a lovely clean infinity pool and lounge/seating area. Spotless clean bathrooms inside the main area for use by campers. Braai areas right by the campsite and river. also have chalets which look fantastic. Didn't eat here so not sure on food but its pretty pricy. Would recommend

Very nice lodge direct on the Shire river. We camped dir toy in front of the nice Swimmingpool. You have a good look from the pool to the river. The pool was very clean. Ablution next to the bar, very clean and comfortable. Good restaurant and bar with big covered lapa with comfortable chairs. Price for camping now MWK 14‘000 pppn.
Very near to the entrance gate to the majete NP. We have done a gamedrive $30 pp + $4 for car.
We can recommend the lodge in any case it’s worth the money. Monica is a very friendly host and the staff is very helpful.

Absolutely beautiful lodge and campsite right on the Shire River. Really well maintained with exceptional and friendly staff and the most stunning pristine infinity swimming pool. Riverside campsites were washed away in the cyclone but the lovely Monika and her staff will assist you in finding a spot to camp, we had a perfect site next to the swimming pool with a lovely bbq area. fantastic hot showers, spotlessly clean, fresh towels available. Great bar and restaurant where we felt very welcome to sit even if not eating and play games that were available to use. Day visitors come at the weekend so nice vibe and it is perfectly situated for relaxation after Majete or to stay and visit into Majete daily. Highly recommended!

Very expensive campsite! Food at the restaurant is really good and worth it, but the campsite is way overpriced. The swimming pool and views are wonderful!

The cyclon with huge flood in February this year destroyed most of the campsites near the river.
You can still camp on grassy spot next to the amazing pool. Ablutions nice and clean with hotshower.
Lovely Restaurant with good food and the best apple strudel in africa.

Very expensive at 10000 MK pppn (the guy manning the empty lodge was very disinterested and would rather see us leave than negotiate the price). 800 MK per small bottle of water. Cold water in the shower. Spot on the bank of the river is beautiful, however no shadow in the morning. Socket available at swimming pool pump house so long lead required. The swimming pool is great. Nice dog keeping you company. The place was dead so we didn't try the restaurant. When camping on the river spot keep an eye out for crocodiles.

lodge with nice small camping site on the shiri river bank good for ground as rooftop tent. nice swimming pool. 10.000 kwacha pp for camping (12 usd). pits with lots of shade and braai area, clean shower next to the restaurant.
