Nice place, too bad the locals use it to burn their old tires and trash it up. We were the only ones there.

nice and solid parking and camping early season still me and one other rig toilets dumpster. watch out for broken glass and trash everywhere.

Free Army Corps of Engineers campground. 23 sites. Clean pit toilet. Dumpster. Water spigot not on. 1 class C and 2 car campers here. Some local traffic in/out. Some small trash/glass. Ranger drove through. Good overnight. Area kept mowed but looks like locals don't appreciate what they have(entire dam area trash/glass/graffiti). Sad.

very very nice spot, I was here for 4 days and this might be the best free campground I've been to. pit toilet and a dumpster. Verizon had 2-3 bars and t-mobile had 3, even some 5g, plenty to work with. I was the only one here the whole time.

the flies were pretty rough, I give them a 6, bring fly traps.

the locals are very strange. they would drive through all hours of the day and night. one guy drove down onto the grass and spent the night not 20 yards from me but I'm very stealthy and hey, it's their world. also found a syringe (without a needle) in the grass. I never felt unsafe, just something to consider. unfortunately people have left quite a bit of trash around (despite being provided a dumpster).

Not many campers but locals seem to enjoy cruising through (there’s beach access from a parking lot at the end of the loop), but we’ll serviced (bathroom cleaned daily) and saw ranger drive through a couple times. Seems like campground was cleaned up somewhat recently (several fire pits were turned into burn piles - maybe for trash?). 2-3 bars Verizon with solid data (8 down, 7 up). A few sites have water spigots but all were inoperable. I’d absolutely stay here again.

Free campsites with nice view of Missouri River and access to the river onto a small beach. The sunsets were beautiful.
The campsites have obvious human footprint, with trash and broken glass around the fire pits/campsites/driveways. Despite that, stayed 2 nights, and only 1 other camper on one of the nights.

Beautiful campground with a lot of spots, right next to the Missouri river. Like a few other posts said there is a lot of local traffic through here. Park ranger stopped by and said the local kids come here to party.

This is an incredible free place to stay. Built by the Army Corps of Engineers. Sites are widely spaced. On a Saturday evening in June, there were only two other sites occupied, out of about 24. There does seem to be a fair amount of local traffic driving through, at all hours, which seems odd. The views of the Missouri River from our campsite are lovely. In late June, the flies were numerous.

We used a tent in one of the first few sites you see along the river. Great view, fairly quiet. Pretty buggy, but hey, that's camping.

on Google it's called North Shore Recreation Area and it's got a lot of sites but definitely not wifi like the post says. everything else is great though! also lots of bugs at night be sure to bring bug spray and I'd recommend a citronella candle or something that creates smoke too. also there is a place to dump "dishwater", and the view is incredible!
