Description

This is the old road for the 132. There are a number of places to stop overnight along the road, some with picnic tables. If one place is occupied just roll on to the next. Very little traffic. You can have fires. There is a lively river that runs along this road. It is accessible to the main 132 from both ends. The water available is from a stream/spring, clean but no hose connection.

Latest Check-Ins

We visited in early May. The road was not all opened yet, there was still snow. Beware if you go too far, there are no way to turn around, we had to drive backward a few hundred meters. Other than that, we slept at the start of the road, it was very quiet and we were not bothered. There are a lot of stars to see at night!

Report Check-In

The road is eroding into the river at some spots be very careful. We arrived at night and were spooked as it was hard to see and sounded very close to the river. The spot closest to the highway looks safe though.

A gem off the old 132. There’s a spot just on the right side about 50m in, another spot on the right that leads to under the bridge. A third area (right side) about 300m in is where we stayed, barely any road noise, just the view and sound of the river flowing. Train passes at around 11pm. Spring water further down. Very quiet and very little cars passing by, and not much mosquitos either. Maybe 4 other cars overnight throughout the whole 2km path.

Keep in mind No phone signal for a good 20 mins north and south.

Very nice and quiet spot to spend the night. Just a few mosquitos. In the morning some sort of ranger came by. He did not identify himself but his jacket did say something like..Protector of nature. He did just friendly smalltalk with us and then he went on. This place seemed to be known for wild camping, but obviously it is fine to spend the night there.

Old highway. Lots of room to park beside river. Spring water available for bottle refills. Beautiful spot.

Report Check-In

very nice spot, a couple of friendly locals stopped by to fill water jugs then left. Trucks on the highway were not a problem. There was just myself and one other car that arrived late. There was a train early in the morning but it too was on the other side of the highway and no whistles or horns. Nice spot for a night.

Really calm, I slept so well next to the river in my tent, from 23:00 to 10:30. No mosquitoes, I could hear trucks a bit passing on the 132 but its on the other side of the river. Saw only 2 cars pass by in the morning. There’s really a lot of places where you can stop on this old road to sleep, and the stars at night where nice.
