Peter | I couldn't hear the wind turbines but it was windy. Great sunset, and you can drive back to the main parking lot if you want to see the sunrise. Foxes everywhere. |

possibleleaver55 | A little spot of heaven with easy low-clearance trailer access right next to the river. We are pulling a small 5x8 trailer behind a small SUV with an after-market tow hitch, which means our clearance is low. There is a little circle drive at this spot so no backing out onto the road. We left our trailer on the drive and then backed our SUV down under a tree and by a fire pit. The river is just a few steps down a hill and made for a perfect spot to pitch our tent. There were quite a few cows who checked us out but they left before we went to bed. In the morning, they returned and greeted us with a wonderful show! We loved the spot so much that we decided to stay another night. Lasting memories were made here. |

Travellingtoyotas | Only one spot near the lake and it is more of a boat ramp than it is a fishing spot. If you’re going to fish in this area, make sure to get weedless line. If you go up the road to Merritt, I believe there is a parking lot and a hill you go down to a amazing fishing spot where the boys and I were able to catch a few smallmouth bass. It was my son‘s first time catching fish, so it was pretty incredible, there are two campfire sites at the boat launch and when we went, there were two Adirondack chairs and a DIY toilet. Everything is pretty spaced out. We did not experience any wildlife other than chipmunks and birds, family or to live up the road and they are very friendly will give you great advice on where to get anything you’re in need of. |

conventionalbirdhouse96 | We loved this place! Did a boat tour the whole afternoon with Arturito. (Who owns puerto olivares with his family) we saw a lot of different birds, monkeys, tucans, … his sister made cheese cakes and coffee to acompany the sunset watching. We also slept here with our tent and they lighted a fire for at night. Really enjoyable place in the middle of beautiful nature and animals. |
