Stayed here because we had to. Weren’t disturbed. If you look closely on the map, there is a picnic areas within the Service Center. On the way out. Unfortunately, we found out only after spending the night in the parking lot portion, beside the Wendy’s

We camped here before and after our visit to Galapagos and left our camper here during that time. Camping costs $6 per person/night, only parking for campers costs $2/night.
Close to the airport, only 10 minutes by taxi, but directly under the planes' approach path. But it's OK for sleeping in the camper.
The entrance is a bit narrow, tall and long campers will probably have problems getting around the corners.

Directly on the beach. We had to clean it up. A trash bin is there. Nice view, beautiful sunset. Swimming is good. During the day there were a few locals. Nobody else at night.
It is not perfect, but also not too bad.
I would estimate, that you can forget it on WE and main season!

Water by the air compressor! Did not ask if potable, but there is a sign on a different spigot (by gas) that says non-potable.

entrance fee for Murchison falls NP for foreigners 45USDpp no cash and 60USD for car. The scam starts when you really want to visit the top of falls you have to pay another 10USDpp or 15USD pp when you want to do the trail. This is a mine area with a long busy truck road to the north. We saw more trucks than wild. Really disappointed. Don't think that you will see Chimps and don't cross the NP from north to south. It will take almost 3 hours without sightings and 40kmph between trucks is horrible.

On a light evaluated spot you have a great overlook over the Yashikul lake and mountains. The road is good and easy.
No grass for tents, but the area is flat.
Yaks graze around this place.
No Tcell coverage

There is an RV park and baseball fields at the bottom. The road up North Mountain has several small primitive camping sites and a few spots that would accommodate a van. The road is partly paved and becomes gravel about 1/4 way up, it is fairly well kept but has numerous potholes. You don’t need 4 wheel drive, but I wouldn’t drive anything larger than a van up the narrow pitted roads. At the top there is a parking area near the road that leads to the fire look out at the top, about a 2 mile hike. The fire lookout is locked but you can rent it off Airbnb. Lots of views, and mountain bike trails, definitely a rad area.

Beautiful little spot right in the lake. Small trails, pit toilets and fire rings. Slight road noise, but well worth the stay.

Nice spot right next to a river. At night the train is very very loud.

Nice spot on the river. Tourist info confirmed that overnight parking was allowed. A trail along the waterfront can be busy on the day. Garbage bins and a bench and a pick nick table.

I would say is more than threes stories. Very funny. The stairs were closed but we managed to climb by the slide of the back side.

Great stop for electricity, dump, and water. It’s a little confusing to find the spots but the employees were so nice and helpful when we asked where the spots were.

This cemetery was huge and very interesting. Lots of topiary everywhere and many, many rows of monuments. With a 30 minute stop for sure, and it is free.

The road here is good with some interesting tunnels. The river, cave, church and natural surroundings are worth a stop for sure. We didn’t swim in the thermal pools. Didn’t think it looked like a great place to settle in for the night so we kept on moving.

Grutas de La Paz 0.49929, -77.84396

A great place to spend your first night in Ecuador, even if you do not need Hans to help you at the border. Only problem is you might get so comfortable it will be hard to push off and explore the rest of the country. Great to meet fellow travellers, amazing breads, tasty foods, and wide variety of beers. The washing machine is busy so don’t put off doing your laundry if it’s available. A must stop for Overlander’s in our books.

The hotel is basic but nice for the price. 15 dollars for a room with bathroom. The owners are really nice and we were able to make all out stuffs dry on the third floor of their hotel. Which was really needed!
WiFi low but enough for basics.

Very nice, quiet, very little highway noise in May. Hiking trail around the lake. Peaceful. Cheap for seniors and pit toilets were clean.

Supermarket with basic foods like pasta, rice and canned goods etc. Some sweets, lots of alcohol and hygiene products. Prices ok, no vegetables or fruits. Parking along the road, if there are free spots.

Great spot. Must be a locals area. Cool old ruins and great views. Forest road in good shape and will get you there close but need a vehicle with clearance to get to the waters edge.
