Very nice doctors, you go without an appointment but you should have time. It can be very crowded and the doctors take a lot of time. Senasa in town exhibits the CVI within 20 minutes and were also very friendly. Finding a parking space can be difficult there.

For those driving a Chilean car going to Peru: if you don't have your padron yet, print the appostilezed anotaciones document, like kileyoshields says below. find it on registro civil Chile website. it is a bit of a hassle to print but it is worth gold! you can enter Peru (at least from Bolivia, Copacabana crossing) without any problems. somewhere in between the payment options you can select PayPal. we could not find a way to pay directly by credit card but PayPal works!

This is a nice place and the family is friendly. It feels almost unreal to end up to their yard after driving through the sand and dust. There is a lot of animals: hens, ducks, bunnies, dogs. Also mosquitos get wild in the night. The shower that we used was very good, cold and warm water with good pressure.

Bulk propane fill. -Was able to pull in with car attached and get close enough to fill. Loop drive. YMMV. Feb 2024 $2.99/gal (later noticed Loves by I10 propane same price) . Also a tire shop.

The other Autogrill on the southern side of the highway also has a shower. They keep a document of yours while you have the key.

Water was warm enough to not freeze to death in winter.

Large gravel lots directly across from the World’s Largest Thermometer. Good for a night. Flat and lots of space. Highway noise but still able to sleep fine. Two other campers and a few semis here when we woke up. Good cell service. Dumpsters between the two parking lots. Food/gas on same road.

On Fridays this area attracts large crowds of off-road enthusiasts. You only want to enter here if you know how to handle your 4x4 vehicle in sand. Good fun in the desert - and you can camp out here if you like as well.

Originally, we wanted to go to "Camping Tamerza Oasis," but here (at the parking lot on the right), we were intercepted by two individuals (a lady and a gentleman). They informed us that the road straight ahead was closed, and the campsite is located here (where two Overlanders were already parked). We realized too late that we were probably intercepted earlier.

We inquired about showers and electricity, and they offered us a shower at a restaurant. We declined and continued driving. In this region, there is a lot of cheating going on, so be warned ;)

No indication this isn't drinking water. Comes right off the city water main that also goes to the water fountain.

We stopped here for a photo and were approached by a man named Farouk, who claimed to have a secret tip for us. He advised us not to visit the well-known waterfalls but instead gave us another suggestion: an off-road path through a Wadi. Following his directions, we set off, but he followed us. When we tried to turn, he overtook us, insisting on guiding us. We drove through a riverbed, the path was pleasant, but after 2 km, it came to an end.

At this point, he started to argue with us. "No tourist knows this place; it's completely hidden and the most beautiful spot in Tunisia." I told him we didn't need a guide, but he demanded 40€ from us for 1.5 hours of guidance. I explained that I wouldn't pay 40€, turned around, and he left, offended. Shortly after, we discovered on Google Maps that it's easy to reach the canyon with a waterfall from "Camping Tamerza Oasis" since the camp is much closer.

We understand that people here want to earn money, but not in this way. Later, Farouk even mentioned that he sometimes earns up to 1000€ per day. This is unacceptable and not ethical.

Clean and friendly resort. we camped and then moved into a chalet the next because of bad weather. R237 for camping and R640 for a neat chalet with kitchen and en suite bathroom. Remember that pensioners get 25 % discount.

fiquei por aí uma noite, eles deixam pernoitar a frente do hotel, são muitos simpáticos, e o posto de gasolina tem água para abastecer o equipamento de viagem.
I stayed there one night, they let you stay overnight in front of the hotel, they are very friendly, and the gas station has water to supply your travel equipment.

Quite a shitty road for bicycles. There is constant traffic, cars are racing as said in other comments, and there is always a cloud of dust. Good idea to wear a mask

I pitched my tent in the forest. At 2 am in the night a car showed up. People with flashlights walked through the forest. Lots of shooting near my tent. Super scary. Eventually, after maybe 15 shots they disappeared.

What a scary night.
