Perfect place on route or back from Morocco. Great restaurant of same family. Ablutions new. Great family owner. Much better than all noisy campsites along highway. Also close to the beach.

New hostel with friendly & local owner, Sergio, who speaks fluent English and Spanish. Pulled my motorcycle into the garage. Has space for about 4-5 more motorcycles. Residential neighborhood with street parking for vans/trucks. Full kitchen, free drinking water, dorm beds and private rooms. 50 Bolivians/night for the shared room. Hot shower. Good location 2 blocks to supermarket!

Trouvé facilement, il y avait d’autres campeurs sur place, personne n’avait de ticket, c’est bon signe…

Nice grounds as stated already, security, ablutions clean with plenty of hot water, paper and soap. Campground seems to be under construction as in a mess, grills are in piles, no set spaces or garbage bags and washing station in main area drains water onto your feet. Wi-Fi was non existent at the campground but a few complaints in reception and they spent time walking me around to find it. Finally opened the conference building up next door and then had extremely fast Wi-Fi. Oh, Shower had great pressure and plenty of hot water. Perfect for washing long hair. Hotel manager Natasha also had the sink fixed that might so management is very responsive and helpful.
Great breakfast but can’t say enough about the management team!
$15/pp for camping

Clevers Lakeview Resort -20.25122, 31.00148

We rolled in in the late afternoon and had no trouble finding a place amongst the other RVs. It was quiet until 9pm when the trailer next to us turned on their noisy generator for the duration of the entire night.

Red Rock Ranger District 34.82369, -111.90669

This swimming and kite boarding beach is long and sees very little use. Access is easy from the highway on a hard packed dirt track. The hard packed sand track winds through trees when it reaches the beach and we found the trees too close together for our 21ft/6.4m van air we parked in a very good spot near the entrance. The trash cans are emptied twice a week and the area is spotlessly clean. Locals walk dogs morning and evening and a few hotel guests walk the field to the beach otherwise it is quiet and serene.
El Fogon de Juana is five minutes away on the highway, turn right as you exit the beach. They serve excellent dishes and pizza, ample portions less than C10,000 a plate. Surprisingly delicious cooks night off.

Unfortunately, no dog allowed in the park and this is strictly reinforced, since this is an area of nature conservation.

Nice place adjacent to a lodge. each plot has its own abolition block and a kitchen sink. Hot water and good MTC signal. Plenty of large Mopane trees. View from bar over a nice dry riverbed. Friendly staff.

Kaoko Mopane Lodge and Campsite -18.07924, 13.88496

Gorgeous view of sunset, indeed pit toilet is fine just no toilet paper available. There is a cargo train that comes by occasionally (twice last night) but goes slow and not much noise.

The way to get there is a 5 mile dirt track. We made it in our 20’ class c 2WD. But that was stretching it. Road is totally doable but it feels like driving on a rubble strip for 5 miles

Trona Pinnacles 35.61868, -117.37393

Do not go out of your way to come here. Positives: it’s really safe, parking is level, hookups work. Negatives: cold showers (I hear sometimes they are hot), one single washing machine for a huge number of RVs, a dryer that will turn off if there’s not enough gas, the pools are not inviting, the place promises much more than it delivers, the price is high for just hookups, you don’t get a map to help you with the strange layout.
No need to avoid the place but it’s not exciting in any way.

Roca Azul RV Park & Home Mobile Community 20.26577, -103.42229

Definitely the best campsite in this tiny town. Facilities all neat and clean.

Semi No backup for load shedding. Camplights and wifi remains running. Power plugs stop working.

I just wish they would upgrade themselves with a swimming pool !

Camping still 150 rand pppn.

What a fantastic craftsman Zihul is. His knives are a work of art. All his work is priced very fairly. He can give you any local information needed. He’s very plugged into the community . Don’t miss the opportunity to see his work.

Fairly quiet night sleep. Arrived around Midnight in our camper van and stayed through
Midday the following day without issue.

We parked near the Food Lion, next to delivery vans for the local wine shop. No other vehicles parked with us.
