Aire Camping-Car Le Goulet - Leucate Village 42.91288, 3.01928

We went up by car today, the road is indeed mostly washboard, but if you take it slow it is super doable. It took us around 1 hr 15 minutes to go up and the same going back. We saw vans, buses and simple 2 wheel drive cars going up as well. The views are great!

Mirador Serranía de Hornocal -23.19748, -65.19341

Really nice place for lunch! It is a very small place, only 4 tables, looking out over the beautiful garden. As mentioned, they have vegetarian and gluten-free options. Good food and nice atmosphere. Recommended!

You’re in Tafraoute? Eat here. Home-cooked food in a quiet corner of town. The usuals - tajines, pastilla, harira etc - but cooked exceptionally well. The host is grace personified. Rooftop or a table inside.

Restaurant Chez Nadia 29.71807, -8.97868

Passamos uma noite bem tranquila, o posto é 24 horas, banheiros limpos, os funcionários bem receptivos, não tem chuveiros.

Ferry waiting line -32.01143, -52.04338

Stayed for one night to be just out of town. Nice large area to find a quiet spot, we chose this one for being flat and looking out to the sea but also spots that are completely hidden. Surrounded by trees and bushes so some protection from the wind. Safe and nice view of the sea. Also entel signal works!

Some cars present in the early evening but these went before night.

Parque Chabunco - picinic area -52.99621, -70.81944

Stumbled upon this lovely, bustling Italian restaurant in search of something to eat at lunch time on a Sunday. The pasta we had was amazing (butternut ravioli with 4 cheese sauce), plus huge salads, awesome tiramisu. Big varied Italian menu. They also have vegan and gluten free pasta. This place has tricky hours, so check if it’s open before you go.

Cefira - Italian Sunday Lunch -24.79610, -65.40872

Huge place. Good for several 4WDs. We liked it a lot. In fact, one of the best wild campings we've had so far.

Close to N1 10.34912, -12.18738

Restaurante ao lado do posto. Dormimos na cobertura. O restaurante fecha porém é super tranquilo, alguns caminhões dormiram no posto e a polícia passou algumas vezes. Comemos uma janta por 18 reais. Emprestaram a chave do banheiro para tomar banho, devolvemos no outro dia. Não pedi para usar água nem luz, então não sei dizer se fornecem. Internet aberta velocidade mediana.

Free, first come first serve in a city park. 5 day max. Half the sites have water/30/15 amp. The other half have only power 50/30/15. Sites are quite uneven. No sewer but there is a dump location on site. Large garbage dumpsters for trash. Lots of road noise but otherwise a quiet area.

The park area is a huge complex of outdoor swimming pool, disk golf course, baseball diamonds etc including two small buildings for bathrooms but all appeared CLOSED for the season.

Coleman Rv Park 33.17282, -102.27605

Nice spot on parking lot of mirador. Many locals coming and going. Down the road there is a small calistenics park for the ones who like to work out.

Mirador Arena Gruesa -41.86001, -73.82582

Nothing to add but still in place. Clean, quite, nice view.
We left firewood (to avoid costum problems;-) ) for the next who is coming.

Rio Chaman -44.44181, -70.71615

Overflow parking was great! Arrived late beating a lake storm, security said hello and documented our arrival but we’re cool with us spending the night. Trains started around 7am. Plenty of space for a 40’ truck and trailer.

Lock 29 Trailhead 41.24345, -81.55010

Good spot to car camp. There was a broken down car at the car park that the police came to tow. They checked on me as well, and were fine with me sleeping in my car here. Nice and quiet spot.

Garaje Tarija -16.53179, -68.17261

Very friendly stuff. We arrived after sunset and they let us drive to the parking near the entrance. We slept there, had a very quiet night and visited cave the next morning. Didn’t see anybody as we left at 11:00 am. We paid 1.000.000 Rial per person, kids (10 + 9 Years) were free!

The campsite is not closed. It is open and a nice place if you are in Coyhaique.

El Camping -45.57702, -72.07893

Couldn‘t find this place. The Spot must be the end of the road where the beach starts. Lots of Ranchos there who charge you for parking (12 - 15$ the night), but no space for wildcamping.

Beachfront 13.46574, -89.25177

Located between the Mississippi River and the RR tracks along the Great River Road. Nice looking park. Made us happy because it is open in the winter (Nov 26) and still has electric service on. $12 a nite this time of year. 3 other campers who all looked like they are here for awhile. Water was off, but we used the dump station. Great view of the river. Trains during the night, but didn’t really bother us.

Fairport State Recreation Area 41.43218, -90.92508

Just a note to say this park is closed in winter. Gate across the entry road. Luckily the Fairport State Rec Area campground a few miles south is open in winter.

Shady Creek Recreation Area 41.44640, -90.87700

Got recommended this smal museum as it tells some history from the Iraqui invasion back in the 90s.

Al-Qurain Martyr House 29.19670, 48.07081

Lots of room, and a couple other overnighters. The traffic noise from the overpasses above was pretty bad.

Bass Pro Shop Pyramid Parking 35.15427, -90.05276

140R pppn, very nice and clean campsite, super clean pool, big sites with electricity and Braai, friendly people. Most sites have trees for shade. Ice and firewood can be bought. Good WiFi around the pool and reception. Would definitely recommend, also to stay longer than only 1 night.
