We intend to stop for 2 nights but liked it enough to stop for 4

Gary and his team are very helpful and friendly. We had deer wandering in the campground

Fishing at the lake.

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL spot to park! I’ve been on Cocoa Beach area for two weeks now and this is my favorite! You can pull right up to the water for absolutely fantastic views. Lots of bird watching and I even saw dolphins!

Parking is kind of tight though so this is more ideal for van lifers. Would not recommend bringing a large rig. But if you have a van or smaller RV it’s perfect- open the back doors and hang out all day!

Great cell signal, full bars so good place to work. Not very busy. Quiet and secluded besides some noise from cars driving over bridge above.

Got gas and filled our water bottles with portable water. Blue spigot is still operational between pumps 11 & 12.

We came for the campground but it closes at 18 and we came a little later. They guard was very friendly and told us we could sleep at this square. We spent a nice calm night here. Nice place with a few tables.

100 pesos to dump now. We didn’t stay, just came by for dumping. It looks super crowded and cramped. Not our cup of tea for a place to stay but the dump station was decent.

Stayed for one night. Nobody bothered us. Quiet place.

I didn't stay here, because the hotel was full. I arrived after sunset, having spent 5 hours at the UAE border 🙄. There's a goid grocery store attached to the hotel, and an ATM at its side. I've asked at the gas station, and the attendant told me about another hotel, 15 km away from the border: by the highway, towards North (Qatar). Name is DREAM HOME. Fairly clean with AC, but bathroom could be cleaner. Parking for my motorcycle just in front of entrance (I cover the bike). 200 SAR, expensive, but it was my only way.
tried to pin the place on the map, but wifi was off and cell phone signal too weak. They have a restaurant attached (I didn't use). Better option than thd hotel by the border. Very friendly people, though only one spoke some English. Funny thing is they don't provide towells. 🤷🏼‍♀️ The hotel is on google maps.

Perfect place for dispersed camping right outside the Grand Canyon. We came in October and had our pick of the crop for pulloffs. Very peaceful and lots of great fire pits. Can’t ask for much more than this!

This place is a gem! We arrived unannounced and the camp attendant was there to welcome us and show us where we can camp. We stayed at campsite “Eland” Lovely shade provided by a tree and our own boma have electricity, water and a fire pit. The ablution was clean and neat. The kitchen well equipped. The owners dogs kept us company. Fernando the owner is a fountain of knowledge and gave us travel tips!

Here you can refill your tires after the Dunes. You don’t need to get out, tell the guys how much pressure you want and they do verry quick. They ask for 5 rials, about 1$.

Een leuke rustige camping tussen de palmbomen. vriendelijke eigenaar en goede douche. ook mogelijkheid om kampvuur te maken.

Spot still there. Gravel road to access, no problem with our 2x4 but may be a bit tricky if it rains. A lot of space next to the water. A bit windy and not a lot of shelter. Very quiet night. Good Claro 4G signal. One of our best spot in Argentina so far. We recommand!

Access road is in good condition, just the last 100m to the campsite are a bit rocky and a small step requires a bit ground clearance.
Very nice campsite as shown on the pictures.
Pay at the gate, if you stay longer you can pay when exiting.
Erratic econet signal.
Toilets are clean and working.
Shower is inoperative.
Great place (also for bird watching, we saw 3 different kingfishers, turaco, paradise flycatcher…)
Very few visitors during the day.

Bridal Veil Falls Campsite -19.79220, 32.84735

Great dispersed camping site next to the Saline creek. We arrived around 5 on a Friday and there was one other tent camper, but the space is large so good privacy. Two fire rings at this spot. Enjoy!

Kevin is absolutely fantastic, very knowledgeable and he has a very good dealer network. He is an overlander himself and went out of his way to help us fix the front suspension of our Landy. Highly recommended.

Kevin- 248 Kenyon Howden Road -29.92405, 30.96180

Perfect place and even better than the touristic spots nearby the road a few kilometers before. Easy access and if you stay on the way, you won’t get a problem. We arrived at friday afternoon and the locals went back home, so we didn’t see anybody during two days. The nature is WOW!

Wild Camping in the Kaluts 30.81742, 57.80677

1000 a night for a twin room (only one mosquito net though) en suite, hot/warm shower. Massive 2+fruit course dinner 400.

Staff helpful and friendly, half-decent English spoken (and a promise of good English by 2026!), place clean.

Not many budget options in town, but these guys are trustworthy and a nice break from the incessant harassment you get in the old town.

Very beautiful place, very quiet. We saw dolphins and sea lions. One pickup truck in the morning who just dropped workers off.

Great clean gym, showers, and a great hot sauna. Only $15 for a day pass, or $10 if you go in with a member. They have regular posted hours on Google but are a 24/7 gym for members.

The camping is not officially opened yet they still have to finished some parts (probably beginning of 2024). But it’s already a very nice place to stay. They have finished the toilets and shower (brand new), you have a shelter with sink and gas equipment, you also have a fire area at each spot. Very close to the entrance of the park, the owners are super nice and helped us to booked our safari (no self drive authorized in the park).
The gorongosa park is difficult to reach because of awful roads but it worth it, it’s a very beautiful park with different landscape and vegetation. Very few tourist so you will be alone most of the time. We saw in a 3h game drive : lions, wild dog, chacal, kudu, hundreds of waterbuck…

Gorongosa Adventures -18.98221, 34.17842

Restaurant just after the bride (if you go south) on your left. Look for the blue building.

Nice restaurant with local food.
Omelette with fries = 200
Rice + tomato sauce = 120
Burger = 300 …

Clean with flush toilets. A good stop on the awful N1.

Couldn’t fit. No joke about the entrance being a little silly. Photos added of narrow alley and pole to go around to get through the black gate.

180$ for 2 night without WiFi, without electricity, without cellphone! No accommodation and a lots of noises because of all the generator! We are so close from our neighbor!!!! Very bad experience

It seems these mechanics are the only ones in town who got grease guns. They greased our van quite carefully. Ask about the price beforehand, though, because they ripped us off!

praia do gamba -20.84195, -40.72568

Ok for one night, like said before go in reverse. The path is currently overgrown by vegetation and very wet, spot only for 4wd and van. It's difficult to be level. The river is pretty and the water is cool. The noise of the river partially covers the noise of the road and in particular of trucks. Moreover, from time to time we smell brake odors. In the morning the mosquitoes found us. 4G with Liberty is working fine.

By The River 10.25963, -84.17600

definitely need 4WD and decent ground clearance for this. track in was deep mud so slick it felt like driving on butter. it was a struggle to get up the deep tracks up the hill. keep an eye out for the pointy rocks jutting out of the mud. they can be avoided.
the two sites at the top of the hill were worth the rough ride in.
bring garbage/recycling bags with you. we filled 2 large blue bags w old beer cans before we could set up.
left some firewood behind tucked under some low tree branches.

Grass field 44.40638, -80.43624

Lovely hostel with a friendly host - with character (she even put my wet hiking boots under the stove to make them dry more quickly). Stayed here for two nights because of the constant rain. Big common room with good WiFi. Showers were hot and had decent pressure.
