Best hotel in Sukkur. It is a new hotel and the staff is very friendly. The rooms are very clean and the breakfast buffet is very big, several Pakistani items and lots of fruits, toast etc. I came here from Quetta after crossing from Iran. After all these escorts this hotel is a paradise where you can relax and recharge for the onward journey.
There is a school next to it and I was invited to talk in front of the class.

As described by other comments. A very large dirt/desert area of State Land. Close to Walmart and other stores. Will get dog walkers from RV Park next door, but they didn’t disturbed me. Storage facility gets a bit of traffic, but nothing that is bothersome.
Freeways are close, but the sound is a hum in the distance.
I did have local police arrive telling me to leave, but luckily I had purchased a AZ State Land use permit online ($15) and showed it to them on my phone. The officer was surprised, as he said no one usually has a permit. He was friendly and we chatted and I took pictures with him. He said I was welcome to stay since I had the permit.
I stayed for 10 days.

This town has only 8 people living here in three houses. The remaining houses are abandoned and rundown. The Post Office actually has potable water outside in a faucet... So you can refill your bottles. I asked permission to camp by one of the residents and she said that this old abandoned church was a fine place to take shelter from the wind. I cleaned up the church and put steel panels on the broken windows for added wind protection. Please keep this place clean. You can fit several tents inside the church. Leave it in better shape than you found it. I left a pile of nails and a good hammering rock for you to continue making repairs. I also left a homemade broom for you to sweep the floor.

Zim to Zam. European passports and spanish 4x4, without CPD.

Zim : very easy and quick, friendly staff. stamped our passports, gave back the TIP, and 1$ per car for the dam. 5 minutes, no hassle.

Zam. 2 hours. what a nightmare :-(
immigration : free visa for european, so stamped our passports with 30 days (had to explain our itinerary). we can extend to 90 days for free in any big city.
customs : wanted to see an Interpol police clearance to edit our TIP (we dont have CPD and it was the first time an officer ask for this!). so we stayed quiet and polite but straight, we dont need this paper. we felt the officer wanted a bribe to do the FREE TIP, we didnt give anything and we were waiting. finally, the officer did it after 2 hours with no money ;-)

finaly, we had to pay : (everything with receipts)
- 20$ the road tax (only dollars, no kwachas, only cash, no credit card).
- 150 kwachas the insurance outside the customs (necessary to edit the free TIP, only kwachas, no dollars, only cash, no credit card).
- 264 kwachas for carbon tax (only kwachas, no dollars, only cash, no credit card). it depends of the size of your car.

money exchangers at the border, 1$ for 22 kwachas but we exchanged the minimum just to pay the insurance, the carbon tax, the toll to go to Lusaka (20k for a 4x4 or 50k for a truck), the council fee at some kilometers (50k for everybody with receipt).

so be prepared and smile : this is Africa ;-)

We spend 2 nights there and it was perfect. Very quiet, very beautiful. Police came to remind us that fires are not allowed, to keep our trash with us and to watch for the tide (it didn’t go over the grassy area but you never know).

We saw 5-6 dolphins in the morning.

A wonderful location right beside the sea! We spent two very relaxing days there, wind was OK, we stood in the shelter of some trees. no services, but no noise and a beautiful sunset. a few other overlander were there. very recommendable!

Stayed two nights for Disneyland. Uber was about $12 each way, we had trouble getting a ride back as it seemed drivers didn't want the short fare after midnight. A few other cars were around but it was a pretty quiet street.

great spot for the night. Reno was proving difficult to get a good spot for the night so this was a great backup for only being 20min outside of the city. train only came by once at night. nice to wake up to the sound of the river. no knock no problems

Recommended, Fernando was great to deal with. His speciality is Japanese cars/4x4s. He was very patient in explaining things to me clearly, his charges seemed very fair and he is obviously competent and professional (even if the garage is small and in the yard of his house). He was quick to diagnose a suspension fault on our 4runner - which other mechanics had misdiagnosed - and source decent parts in La Paz. Great communication during the repairs too with regular WhatsApp pictures.

Nice and very quiet peebles beach. The river is clear and it is nice to take a bath. There a lot of place to park. Just be careful if it is raining, the water level can rise. Accessible for all kind of vehiculs. No 4G with Liberty.

Super funky place right along the lake. Andres was very nice and we enjoyed our stay. The bathroom and shower situation may be more challenging if very crowded. The common room was cozy and could be really fun with a bunch of friendly travelers.

Nice and quiet place, although expensive for the conditions… Toilets were not clean and in bad conditions, only had hot water, so we couldn’t have shower because it was burning. Disappointing.

Nice camp, although the toilets and showers are old and not very clean. Expensive, but you have more time to explore the park, since you are inside the park and the gate open earlier and close later for those in the camp.

The bridge is currently under construction. It could be another two years before you can cross the river here. That's what the construction worker told us.

Beautiful wild camp by the river. Perfect place to relax for a day or two. From this side of the river you can explore the gorge on a small path or try to catch some fishes for dinner. Too bad, that the bridge is still under construction. That means, you will have to drive the whole way back to the main road again. Still a nice place to spend the night after the boarder crossing.
