Wide open area just off fs road - lots of giant rocks around and signs of people having bonfires
Wouldn’t be able to necessarily get in with a true big rig but plenty of space and lots to turn around if needed

Police officer was the first one in Peru who asked for our permission for tinted windows. Luckily we had the aduana write it on the TIP.

Quick visual check through opening a rear window and we were on our way. Fruit check was just asking if we had anything, no search.

Police & Agricultural checkpoint -12.80376, -76.54830

Control a bit further north at S12.54466, W76.71596. At least 5 police cars stopping southbound traffic for document check. The initial officer was not so sure about my european driving licence, but his superior quickly gave the all clear, and we were on our way again.

Fine place in the middle of the city. You have two options here:
Pay for the campground which is pretty expensive. 50$ for a tent spot for a night and the shower isn't included. Gate was open and I didn't see a single person working there.
Sleep in the huge parking outside the gate. A RV did this and I should have done that too.

Beavermead Park 44.29619, -78.30185

We spent 1 night here to start the hike the next day. We paid 25 reis per person to camp in our van. Not the cleanest camping but cheap !

Sempre Viva Pousada e Camping -12.61212, -41.49850

we arrived in the dark. the fence was closed. i shouted a couple of times but no response so i opened the fence and we drove in because we were blocking the road a bit...

a couple of minutes later maximo walked out to us. he was a bit annoyed because he didnt give us permision to come on his property. When i explained the situation and apologized he let us stay for the night but he did ask for payment (" donation") , we gave him 3 usd and stayed the night. a lot of street noise and his dogs bark a lot when u get out the van at night... would have checked out the other spot next to the church a bit down the road ( direction to loja). toilets are available

Chegamos no final da tarde e ainda havia muitos carros. Mais tarde conseguimos estacionar tranquilamente. Não tem água nem energia elétrica. A noite um lâmpada na rua clareia o local onde ficamos.

Easy boarder, took us 1.5h both directions.
Saudi side does not stamp carnet. Qatar side did stamp on import but first didn't want to stamp at export because not needed. We insisted and they stamped.
Insurance for Qatar mandatory and pretty expensive (for minimum period 7 days we paid 145 Rials (approx. 40 USD)

Campers and vans parked here and appears to be good for overnight. I haven’t tested it out but want to mark it as a potentially good place. There are no signs. Taco truck until 8 pm

Nice location but our campsite was absolutely disgusting. I mean literal human shit covered with paper towels. Trash everywhere. Absolutely disgusting.

Ryan Rd Dispersed Area 48.48930, -113.94733

Still appears open and free. Two unhoused folks were sitting directly on the edge of the sani dump station when we pulled up. We started to use the site, but the folks were displeased and we felt a bit unsafe so we abandoned and left.

Take caution to look for needles, glass, etc if using this dump station. Otherwise looks like a well maintained site.

Espero ajudar quem precise.

LOCAL PROTEGIDO DO VENTO -37.65087, -67.07580

Local muito bom, proprietário seu Milo muito atencioso.
Não se pode cozinhar nos quartos, como chegamos tarde, fiz algo em uma mesa que tinha no lado de fora, amplo estacionamento.

Lovely spot to sleep in the rain in 13 mile woods. Had few bars Verizon.

I traveled all the way through Mexico from the north to the south. The two times I was stopped at a checkpoint were five minutes after I entered the country and this one, five minutes before leaving. Quick and painless. No concerns. A minute later, I was headed to the border.

Military checkpoint 17.26978, -91.03257

Entered Guatemala from Mexico. At Guatemala immigration, was told I had to go back to Mexico to pay their exit tax... or I could pay a tax to the Guatemala official. I chose to go back to Mexico. Back on the Mexican side, I was asked about my TIP for my bike. I never had one as when I entered Mexico from the US, they never even stopped me... just waved me through. So now, I had to fill out a TIP, cancel it 30 seconds later, pay 687 pesos... and I was out of Mexico.

Back in Guatemala, I had to have my passport, bike registration and some other papers photocopied but had to go with a kid on his motorbike to copy them at his shop... and pay him 500 pesos even though there was a photocopier behind the Guatemalan official.

Then there was the disinfection of my bike which cost more money. Pretty sure I got scammed but I'm in Guatemala... woo-hoo!

This quarry is vast and several roads provide access. The place is quiet, soldiers patrol the area because there is a prison on the other side of the road. We asked the soldiers if they could sleep here, they agreed.

Hotel royal 4.52952, -73.92292

I checked two other hotels and they also were charging the same rate as Hotel Guox... 200 Queztales. Pretty steep for Guatemalan standards. Wifi was useless until I got the front desk guy to log me into his staff(?) wifi.... then it was great. Warm shower, AC worked fine when the town had electricity, which was most of the time. No blankets, just a flat sheet. 5 gallon jugs of water that they let me fill my bottles with. Parking is available but not secure... just in a carport. I was on the third of at least four floors... be prepared to walk a few steps.
