They also offer dorm rooms for 50 MAD. The owner or the chef from the "Hotel" can't speak any other language than Arabic...

Good for one night, but quite a bit of traffic noise. Seems to be the parking lot of the visitor center. Three other cars parked overnight.

The busiest cracker barrel rv parking lot so far. Vans, motorhomes, suv's, cars and a semi. Two motorhomes ran their generators which is a bit annoying, other than that perfect and safe spot. Met some amazing people in a skoolie

Great location, quiet and not too intrusive because of the way houses are laid out on the streets. Other streets around the 3rd are also good options.

Cool spot right across the river from Point State Park with perfect city view. Still $10 for 24hr and really easy to access. The incline is totally worth a ride, only $5 for a round trip!
It is probably one of the loudest places you could stay. 3 train tracks and two are 50ft away plus road above. I thought it was pretty cool didn't really bother me. Recommend

Wild camp for motorcyclists or cyclists, in a small tunnel right by river. Good wind cover. On the south side of tunnel there is another smaller unused tunnel to the right, blocked off for 4 wheel vehicles but can enter on 2 wheels. Good private camp spot. Can access river clear water further down. Can hear cars during day but traffic light to non existent at night. Does the trick for a free spot to stay.

We came here planning to stay three nights and ended up staying three weeks after a part broke on our vehicle. Raul and his family were amazing hosts. They gave us a secure address for shipping our part, drove us into town once a week to get groceries and supplies, and invited us to many family events for meals, live music, and even a traditional local carnival in town. La Burbuja is an absolute gem with a nice kitchen (well stocked with cerveza), hot showers, and the most beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. It's quiet and peaceful during the week with a bit more traffic from climbers on the weekend. It's worth making a detour to visit this spot for a few days. Dogs are allowed, but note that there is a sweet resident cat named Bombolla. Bring some pizza dough and give Raul's friend Eric a call as he is a master pizza maker and great local guide :)

Pulled off here and followed the road off the edge. Parked below, plenty of space and still pretty high up (flooding possible). Road continues to more good spots along the river. A few folks fishing throughout the day.
No services. Use this place responsibility by taking our burying your poop and take your toilet paper and other trash. This one is pristine, keep it that way.

The road work has cut a flat area where one vehicle could park. But might be dusty. Wind break of a huge sign advertising construction. Not idea for overnight but fine to cool your brakes.
Also moist space for a small tent down the trail a bit. Trade off sound of waterfall for wet gear!

This is the end/beginning of pavement. The curvy, steep section is dirt with potholes. It is very slow going, rough and sometimes narrow. Plan extra time and maybe stops to cool down.

This is the end/beginning of pavement for this section of Carretera Austral R7. This are varying degrees of road work along here. Pavement ends/resumes at top of the switchbacks. It’s rough, rocky, steep and many potholes.

Like eating in moms kitchen- if mom is a Chilean master fish chef. Merluza is amazing. Salmon had cheese and oregano on it. Fries were thick and greasy and good. Salad was fresh from the garden. Share the table with other diners. Loved it.
Do not judge a book by its cover.

Now 370 pesos for a room for two people with a huge bed, a tv and a nice hot shower. What’s nice is that you can park right in front of your room (so we could just cook in our van and eat in the room, haha). Why that is…? It’s an auto hotel! But the front area with rooms looks totally nice and decent. Behind the reception (which is at the parking area) there’s the tacky auto hotel area with curtains and people can take a shower in the reception area, haha. However, would recommend for the price. WiFi is there, but just in the parking area and in the reception area. Doesn’t work at all in most rooms.

Public parking spot for Free - with shade and public toilets (toilets only open during the day 7am - 6pm, cleanliness: ok).
Good for one or two nights.
Very quiet (=deserted) from 6pm on and during the night.
During the day only a public bus came by to let some people off for shopping. Otherwise no one really parks there, because a huge parking area is available at the Supermercado Fernheim, which is across the street.

We stayed 2 nights here without being asked for any pesos for parking. There’s a nice, mostly level, grassy area to park right at the sanctuary and it’s dead quiet at night. There were a few very friendly dogs that were no trouble at all. It was a lovely hike in the trees and we saw lots of butterflies but none clinging to trees as we had hoped. We paid the 80 peso admission two days in a row hoping to catch them releasing from the trees but no such luck. Definitely avoid the weekends if possible. We hiked on Friday and didn’t see a single other person. It was magical.
Saturday the parking area was loaded with busses and cars.

Kuwait -> Irak
- We had the green permit from the airport Kuwait and it was necessary.
- At the Iraq border the first station was some containers were they stamp the CDP, they asked if I want to go to north Iraq and turkey and sent me to another container to Hosam. A super friendly guy with little English. He is honest and helped a lot.
- but so many stamps was needed so there was a fixer who helped. And really guys he wanted to have 5 Dollar and speed up the process.
- He also organized for me to change dollar in Dinar and Kuwait money.
- I could buy a Zain SIM Card at the border.
- To get the Visa was no problem.
- All costs are mentioned. be sure to have dollars.
- at the end the last stations before border exit wanted to have a copy of all papers. I have a printer on bord. otherwise you have to go back. be sure before you leave to make a copy of all papers.

one of my favorite spots in New Mexico ! I actually parked at the corner of this road and Alamo Road. large open area would fit multiple large rvs. was an old couch and trash dumped here when I arrived. tried to clean up a little but couldn't dispose of it all. hopefully someone with a truck will haul it off but I was in my motorhome. it's about a 2 mile walk to beautiful views over the Pecos river .. absolutely love it here. worried about the wind warnings today but room to turn into the wind and survive it .. I hope. tbc. beautiful skyline of Roswell at night and the sunsets never disappoint

We were lucky to be just ahead of a bus, so it went out in less than 30min. As usual, we had to declare what we had with us, so the last onion was confiscated. They just had a very quick look in the car, asked us to leave the onion there and let us pass. No COVID tests asked whatsoever.

Spend a night here. A security guard came during the evening and told us its not allowed to make fire or to pitch a tent. He told us he will walk by every 1,5 hour so than we could see some light. Super quiet night.
