We came here and met the really nice Fernando and his wife. He also does private boat trips for 600bob for 5hrs (we were two people), starts at 7am, reaches the eco lodge goes a bit further and then back. We stopped for a coffee/tea/bread with jam at the lodge for 10bobs for everyone. There was nobody in the river while we were doing the tour so it was very relaxing.
It is wet season so we couldn’t spot all the animals (no jaguars nor tapirs) but we saw many many caimans, turtles, different birds, capibaras, all three types of monkeys, pink dolphins and some fish.
Fernando is really easygoing guy, he can tell you all about the animals you’ll see, sometimes he’ll sing too. Speaks Spanish, English, some German and Hebrew.
He’ll ask you to bring bananas for him and the small monkeys. They are super cute and curious and it looks like they are very used to people coming to them because they will come right away and climb the boat (or you!!!)
We also prepared sandwiches and gave two to Fernando, he was happy to have breakfast with us on the boat. It was a friendly atmosphere. If you don’t have money for the 4/5/7 days trips (like us), this is a good option to discover the pampas.
We paid 150bobs pp for the reserve entrance (got a ticket for foreigners, actually it’s his wife who sells the tickets for the reserve).
Here’s Fernando’s number: +59163280354
Just contact him a day prior or in the beginning of the day for an afternoon tour. Best time to spot animals is early morning and late afternoon.

We left the car here while we were on the boat, it’s safe, There is also a police/marine officer during the day.

$5 for a “lap-swimming pass”. Check the website for hours. In the womens there are 2 shower stalls that have curtains, the rest are a row of faucets with no walls for privacy. High water pressure, no temp control, water was warmish, not hot. I felt like I was getting pressure washed - felt great!

It's not friendly.

We arrived exhausted at the end of the day after spending 4 days touring the protests in Peru. Security only let us spend the night.

You have to pay to use the bathrooms.

I emphasize that the local has a structure for this and trucks are there. I think the problem was us.

There is no gate at this road so will update this. The secondary road from Cameron going inland (alongside the camping) is a private road so I think the creator added the wrong location and ment this one. This road is open.

Refugio door is open. There is a toilet and 3 (bunk) beds for shelter out of the wind or rain. There is no heating but saw some electricity outlets, did not check if it was possible to use. For a shower you can use the bus stop in Cameron just 1k further up the road.

Lots of space to spread out. The road goes further but condition worsens. Verizon and T-Mobile are both very poor speeds out here.

Good rest stop to spend the night and go for a walk along the gorge. As mentioned, the bathrooms are closed in the evenings / overnight. Some people set up market tables in the morning but only a few and around 8 am (might be because it's winter and MLK Day though). Verizon service is very spotty - alternates between 0 bars LTE on Verizon and 2-3 bars on roaming

Helped us out with our Defender 300TDI.
The workshop manager used to work on Defenders and has a lot of knowledge (200TDI and 300TDI)

We payed 47000 for about two hour of work.

The workshop manager knows a lot, the people that are learning know nothing and don’t leave them with your car alone :) this is everywhere so not just here.

Would advice this garage if you have problems with your 300TDI :)

This place is great. Super tasty cakes and food and the owners are lovely. We hadn’t realised Parque Patagonia was before Cochrane so didn’t have enough food for camping in the park and didn’t want to have to cycle into town and back out again. The cafe sold us Tomatoes and eggs and hard boiled them so they’d survive the journey and then made us tortillas too! ❤️

Photogenic spot with a great sunset, crystal clear water and clean beach. We stayed for two nights, hearing only the waves. Very nice place to be after the border crossing. During the day there’s locals around, police and border patrol came to say hello, passport control and we got the confirmation that we were allowed to camp here. All were very friendly.

Adoramos!

As others have written. Very into rules. Breakfast no later than 9am (bread kinda stale - but up the road they sell really good pan amasado) and check out no later than 10. And the sheets were some awful nylon/synthetic material. If we’d not been so late into
Town and tired would def have looked elsewhere.

Very cool place! We watched 25 twentyfive!) crocodiles! Wait a bit without moving or talking and they will come out of the water.
Fluffy, sandy tracks leading there, so much fun to ride with a motorbike!
We asked in the village for the starting point and then found our own tracks and pistes without following any intermediate coordinates. I think we did 2km more than we should have, but enjoyed the ride anyhow.

Great place to stay, very homely feel. €10pn for a private room with shared bathroom, there’s a good kitchen and plenty of seating areas. Reza speaks good English and is a really nice guy, the others don’t speak English, but are lovely. I could park my moto safely inside, only room for one bike, might not fit a big GS or similar though.
