Lose data and need to make an emergency call? This highway (especially around this bend) has about 10-15 different places to stop and use emergency wifi that they provide. What an amazing feature. It turns into Emergency buzzer booths after the bend.

Not the best selection of food but next to the supermarket is a small shop where you can buy a Tigo and Claro SIM card.

Nice rest area, but as others have mentioned, lots of noise from the highway.

There is a sign that says No overnight parking, I called for the slight chance they would allow it and they confirmed that there is no overnight allowed

i Love tais place, calm , quiet and safe. 2500 pesos car and 2 People per night with hot bath.

A campsite by the lake, mostly sheltered from wind and with direct access to the water, although quite muddy

That’s a wonderful restaurant with traditional Brazilian meal. It’s familiar and has been working since 26 years. I liked a lot its prices.

Nice place as described. Paid 4000 pppn. This camping is in front of the nicest section of this beach. Further west there is more debris at the edge of the beach, further east it is further away from restaurants etc.
Btw the restaurant Los Almendros is really good, not cheap but high quality food with housemade sauces.

grifo de agua en la gasolinera perfecto para llenar el tanque de agua del motorhome (solo para dicha y lavar platos). no conseguimos combustible a precio boliviano pero pedimos permiso para llenar el agua y nos dejaron sin problema

didn't ask about any paperwork. only checking triangles, fire extinguisher and first aid kit. seemed friendly and asked how long we have been on the road and if we liked Bolivia.

still only filling up Jerry cans here, but at least for local price, and as many tanks as well wanted (our tank is 140L, so it took a few trips to fill). it's an annoying process to deal with, but the woman was nice and they even offered us a place in the shade like, 10m away, to park while we filled up.

Safe place near the church and just 5min walking to center.

We came about 3 PM and got a fresh fish for 20 pesos. Everyone was really nice.

Be aware that the photos are old and that the area seen with the red RV is now fenced off for private access to boats and the parking area is very limited. Also, the picture of the vehicle in front of the rocks is really not possible at this point because all of the boats now take up that space it’s beautiful but your unlikely going to be parking on the beach. Also, the entrance to the beach has deteriorated and you will need a serious four-wheel-drive to get down from the parking area onto the beach and back.

Very clean campsite. Friendly and helpful staff. Nearly all services. 20 minutes from Walt Disney.

we were staying at Casa Grania and headed west from there to go to Sucre. Via Google maps, you must go all of the way back to Santa Cruz to cross the bridge there. which is like 30km in the wrong direction. the host said this river crossing is possible, and it was. even motorcycles crossing here. it was pouring rain all day, 3 days ago, and the river in it's deepest spot was maybe 30cm. hard bottom, no rocks. a little bit of soft sand in the middle section but not deep enough to be a problem. crossed in 2wd. the south bank exit was steep that might be tricky if it was currently raining, but not an issue when dry. the north bank is flat and easy.

Correntino could fill one kilo in our 5 kilos Peruvian bottle, not the conventional way to do it but worked. we paid 350 pesos. they also have a second hand shop with many thing's that could be useful. number : +5492966449072

No recent rain, but with winter weather and snow on the ground the entire road is a mud pit. Possible in a 4runner, but difficult and could barely get out of the tire ruts to turn into a clearing. Service on Tmobile through AT&T roaming

Awesome beach with palm trees everywhere - feels very tropical. Apparently good surf for a longboard but not the day that we were here. Hard sand dirt road in, made it easily in our 22 ft shuttle bus. Could sleep here in the sandy parking lot but it’s not right on the beach. Beach is about a 400m walk through the palms. Sand flies came out at sunset. Really loved this spot for the day but didn’t stay the night because there’s no phone reception and nobody else was staying.

Nice mainly flat area at the end of the Street 44- already on compact sand- near to the beach and palapas. Some nice locals, no doggies and mucho shells on the shore

Nice spot to pull up, woke at 8am to the realisation our van was now parked in nearly 2 foot of water. There had been a lot of rain the past couple of days but didn't expect the water to rise that much overnight.

We had some water inside but it was mainly under the level of the subfloor so we escaped too much damage! You can see the waterline on the side of the van!
