I’m surprised this Cracker Barrel was not already listed. Convenient location just off the highway minutes from Virginia Tech. RV parking is in the back with four pull-thru and a large number of regular spaces. You know the drill. The night we stayed there were 7+ other campers.

Cabinda to Congo
for Angolan immigration you need to bring copies of Picture page, Angola visa and Congo visa. possible to make copies at small shack on the right of the entrance of the border (200 kw per page). No need to cancel TIP.
Congo side we skipped the health check by driving the car through the boom first: the health check is located at the pedestrian entrance. they shouted at us a few times we had to come but we said we would do immigration first and then they didnt see us anymore since they were busy.. immigration officer friendly but a bit drunk, he stamped us out instead of in, so check he takes the 'entry' stamp!
CdP filled by customs, asked for payment (but no receipt available..) first asked for 10k CFA, but we settled on 5k CFA. last stop is police, writing our story on a loose paper. all in all 1.5 hours through both borders.

not open when we were here (8.30pm on thursday)

We asked for permission to stay, the father was a very friendly young man who let us park behind the guest house without charge. upon request later that night they opened a bathroom for us(no running water but buckets). unfortunately there was not much sleep: all through the night (litteraly from 10pm untill the mass at 6:30 in the morning, which we attended) there was singing in the hall and people walking in and out right past our car where we slept inside, chatting in groups. everyone extremely friendly

got a knock in the morning from a state trooper because i have my cats in the van with me but was cool overnight so engine wasn’t running for AC. If you have pets with you make sure they can’t be seen at all from the outside or keep the engine running all night or you might get a knock too.

agreed, quiet area on the street in front of the marina. harbor patrol drove by once but didn't bother us.

Pit toilets are now available with a water bucket for "flushing". Still no tap water and no showers. Beautiful spot. Hyenas come to visit and lions roaring the whole night. Great Airtel and Safaricom internet signal.

This is a small trailhead parking lot suitable for 2-3 short wheel base campervans. It is totally concealed from the main road and has very little traffic. No amenities except a small trash can but it is a snug quiet place to spend the night. No cellular. It was foggy so we did not do the trail to the lookout however I believe it was a short walk.

Ficamos estacionados alguns dias na praça do Bambu. Local seguro e tranquilo. Afastado do barulho do centro. Vimos ponto de energia, mas não utilizamos. Também tem banheiro, mas não sabemos se estavam abertos. Bom lugar para quem tem motorhome de tamanho grande. Local com bastante sombra.

It looks like it’s still a bit under construction so things still feel nice and new. It’s a ways back from the main road and the door to reception is furthest back. It’s on just past the police checkpoint on the right if you’re coming from Dodoma. Good for one night after seeing the Amazing Grace reviews

Great place by a small lake with no road noise. Space for a few rvs

As previously mentioned. Good place off side of sand road that apparently goes 100 km to a town. Only animal foot prints on road in sand. We had a quiet night and saw no one.

Great place to camp & kite. We ended up staying 12 days. You can park your van in between the cabanas. Very cosy place to hang out, good food, friendly people, flush toilets and bucket showers (but clean and with running water from a tap). We paid 10k per person per night. Loved it! So much better (and quieter) than the other places in Cabo. You can also ask them for a tour (guide) to Punta Gallinas (with or without your own vehicle).

Road to Cabo de la Vela was perfectly doable with any vehicle. You do come across ~10 rope blocks with kids. They drop the rope when you give them water / crackers / … The easier road to Cabo de la Vela up north had no rope blocks (see the tourist attraction point up north for the turn-off).

Hostel where you can camp. Paid 20k per person per night. Quite pricey. They have a restaurant as well. Lovely view of the bay. Flush toilets and showers. Very busy and loud though (as all the tours come here).

parking lot in the park very wide and with shades, you can spend the day peacefully, we didn't inform you if you could stay overnight. water point with 1/2" outlet, with an adapter, you can fill the water tank easily, good pressure. vivo operator has a very good signal

A good size coin-op/credit card laundromat. It has a good variety of washer sizes. 30 or so regular sized dryers. They even have a few XL size washers and dryers. They do offer drop-off wash and fold service.
Walmart parking lot is right next door and so you could park and walk over if your rig is too big.

right by the sea, next to the footvolley ground, 1 block from the restaurants ans the cool nightlife but without noise. The street Is narrow but if you stick to the wall you're fine (police patrols passed by and didn't say a word). No services but great spot.

Still a slippery road. Lot's of "black rubber", can be slippery for motorbikes even when dry

Spent two nights here and it was wonderful. Many flat spots and many people but no one was a bother. Pretty buggy and definitely mosquitos at night. Super close to Diamond Lake which was lovely as well. Hardly any Verizon service.

Camping Clube do Brasil. As most CCBs camp, it's far from the glory moments. It has water, 220v electricity, clean bathrooms and free access to Lagoa do Bonfim. No Wi-Fi. The grass was a little tall, and with the exception of the bathrooms, all other structures are abandoned. The place is calm and pleasant.

We stayed just one night here but wish could be more. As described. 5usd pp and the living room is really nice and rustic. We loved all the details of a Otavalese* house.
Super recommended but if you work on line as we do (videocall/classes) will face some problems with the quality of the internet. Appart of that is excellent 👍
