Didn't stay overnight but there were so many vans and things obviously staying that I'm coming back! Great place for a simple walk on the beach or a longer linger :)

I came in about .6 miles from I-17. The roads bumpy, but my 24’ Class towing my SUV on a Dow dolly did fine.
Parked near a little pond. The other spots for my size rig were taken-but it was Memorial Day weekend.
If I had a van or truck with a travel trailer, I could have found a spot sooner.
4/4 bars on Verizon. There is a cell tower right here.
Saw a few dozen cows grazing as I can in just before sunset.
I was told they graze near the pond in the AM, so am looking forward to that.
About 12 miles south of Flagstaff. But the are gas stations both north and south on the I-17.
Great weather and forest life in May.

This place is crazy. It's packed with campers and they're all doing the things we're all told not to: parked sideways across several spots, slides out, awnings up, chairs in the parking lot, playing the radio, etc. This has to be the most understanding Walmart ever. Delicious tamales inside though. ;) No one seemed to be checking it out but back behind where the deliveries come is a whole beautiful sandy spot with a great view of the dry river canyon and mountains. I suggest buying yourself dinner and a new camp chair and watching the sunset back there before bed.

Both of the spots off this small road were occupied by permanent long term “campers” so I passed.

Pretty small campground with only THREE tent spots the rest are RV spots. Tents were all taken so I pulled into an RV spot and the camp host wanted to charge me for the full RV hook up price $15 instead of $7. There were 3 other open RV spots the whole night. So i clarified and said i just have a rooftop tent and i wasnt using any hook ups. He replied “that’s an RV spot ain’t it?” Camp host was also pretty unfriendly and told me he had no change for a 20 at all. Most camp hosts carry cash so it sounded like BS to me. Probably didn’t want to get change for us at 9pm. Campground was also loud with a crying baby. The other camps up the road were all full so we were stuck with this one for the night. I’d advise going elsewhere if you have a choice.

Zero Verizon. Beautiful spot to stay. Several places designated by a camp fire rig, nice and flat. Look around meadow area.

Pulled up to the gate. It was locked and said the Forest was closed due to high fire alert. There were two other vans parked outside the gate, so I found a spot and settled in. Beautiful until the Sherrif pulled in and threw us out.
Moved across the street to Flying J. Not nearly as nice scenery, but think it will do for the night.

I wouldn't stay overnight here, just maybe rest and have a quick meal. I got the impression it is heavily monitored by the locals due to 3 different men within 5 minutes all coming around to look at my vehicle ! I had arrived at 7pm.

Solid spot, parking for any size rig, signs indicating camping is allowed. Walking distance to a nearby gas station with bathrooms

Fairly inexpensive ( $55/night for me) full hookup established campground. Large enough to have spots away from the main road to where it's fairly quiet.

It's a bit older and just ran by an older couple, so expect all that entails.

Bathhouse is a quarter per 5 mins of hot water.

Nice location within 30 mins of downtown Portland.

VERY LARGE RIGS BEWARE. May have some issues at the beginning via single lane bridge right after a turn. The park itself is fairly narrow paths although there are some pull thru sites.

I had 0 issues with 17ft Toyota Sequoia towing a 24ft Travel Trailer.

We spent a night here, there is security and lots of lorries parked for the night. We are in a big rig, possibly not suitable for anything smaller.

Beautiful campsite overlooking a big waterhole.
This is the public campsite about 1km from HQ. It feels like a true bush campsite.
The private campsites are more secluded, but also about 80 dollars more expensive.
We saw Buffalo, waterbuck and hippos around our camp.
There is an ablution block with a clean flushing toilet, a cold shower and a sink with running water.
Max the reserve manager is super friendly and replies very fast on your emails [email protected]

A true recommendation!

Came back here after 3 years. It is still one of the best free camps in Thessaloniki area. Still no facilities so come prepared. Swimming in the clear water is just perfect. If you wanna camp to the very point of the cape, you need to air down as the sand can be soft.

Nice and quiet wild camping spot along the Zambeze. No one passing by. A bit dirty but there is a flat area. We don’t know about the mosquitos as we stayed inside. Ok for one night but not really much. Really small 3G reception

The reviews of other place and location looked too close to the highway, so we took this side road on maps me to come here. It’s just camping on the side of a not frequently used road. Only 1 cattle car passed in the evening and none in morning. Weak 4g mascom signal. Good for a night before border crossing without a big detour
