If you want to store you car at a safe place I can highly recommend it. No big rigs only up to 3.5t
additionally the have a garage where you can service your car or get things done properly.

great small supermarket, has everything (really!) fresh veggies/fruits, milk, meat, and anything else to stuck up (pasta etc).

gas station with petrol/diesel to fuel up before Tarangire national park - card payment possible. Small shop with basic groceries.

very nice campsite owned by Erica and Paul just below Mount Meru and the entry to Arusha National park (turn left just before the National park sign/arch, rocky road a few hundred meter, then gate on the left, no signs) . the place is very well maintained, has great showers and a sink for dishes is being completed right now. We got great recommendations of what to do and where to go all over the northern circuit from Paul and Erica, as well as our Jeep Wrangler checked (they also rent out Landrovers for self drive -> Shaw Safari Ltd). The Arusha National Park is worth exploring in a great day trip, we also did a long walking safari (4-6h) with a ranger (Aly) which was really amazing. The place could probably also host bigger rigs, just go and ask them. Vehicle storage also possible.

Public parking on the beachfront, without facilities. It is possible to park all along the shore, but it is recommended to be in "Ponta da Praia" near the municipal aquarium. Simple to park, especially if you arrive early or overnight. It is not recommended to keep the house doors open. There is a sign prohibiting trucks, but we were parked for two nights and had no problems (our document is motorcasa).

Estacionamento publico na orla da praia, sem facilidades. É possivel estacionar em toda a orla, mas é recomendado que seja na "Ponta da Praia" proximo ao aquário municipal. Simples de estacionar, principalmente se você chegar bem cedo ou durante a noite. Nao é recomendado ficar com as portas da casa abertas. Há uma placa de proibido caminhões, mas ficamos estacionados duas noites e nao tivemos problemas (nosso documento é motorcasa).

Large site with beautiful view. Dirt road was pretty flat with slight washboarding. The site itself is a little rocky, but okay of you go slow.

Friendly staff, clean shop, decent coffee, clean bathrooms, but no showers. Surprisingly quiet, and we have no insulation or anything in the van yet (just picked her up in WI, on our way back to the East coast).

Road in along seashore is rough. Although 2 wheel drive is possible, you will need good ground clearance to get over some of the rocky areas. 4x4 in low range will give you the control needed to get over the rocks easily.

what a great spot. giant parking lot. close.to everything you'd want at smugglers state park. great view of the mountains. a few other campers there too.. met some nice people.

Overnight parking beside the road to Messum Crater ca 3 km from C34. There are many options to camp along the road towards Messum Crater. We went here instead to the beach to escape the fog and the strong wind. No cars, very quiet, very weak MTC Signal.

Unreal spot for camping next to the beach. All the spots are close to the sand, but some have better outlooks from the campsites - #11 was awesome. Road is full of potholes on the way, but no requirement for high clearance or 4WD. Short walk to Secret Cove. No reception. Minimal driftwood around for fires so best to bring it in. Free

Leon repairs all trucks and 4x4s. He helped with our 6x6, first on the side of the road in Maun and then at his workshop. Very friendly and efficient service

Local came and told me its private property. And told me i could stay for the night if i keep the place clean. Didnt seem very happy about it though so I think this place is closed.

Friendly owner. It’s right next to the N2 so there is quite a bit of traffic noise in the evening and at night. We paid 150 rand pppn

Great place to stay with really good food. Pretty quiet, although the freeway is somewhat close by.

Just East of Jetmore, Kansas 4 miles off the highway on good dirt road. Small lake and plenty of space for camping. Great overnighter.

While there are plenty of nice, spacious spots to camp in with vehicles of all sizes along the first mile or two or so of Forest Road 316, this exact spot is a few miles up the mountain, towards Madden Peak, where you’ll find more spots, but more they get more sparse as you drive up. This one is a very spacious spot with a firepit along the road. There are cars driving up and down the road all day, but really not that many. The reason I am posting this review though, is that I did see a bear here this morning. It walked away when I opened my car trunk, but just saying: they are here! So keeping a clean camp will probably help not attract them as much!

Very open, I stayed there one night during the week so there wasn’t too many atv or sidexside running around, Which made it very quiet.

This hide/viewing platform is specifically designed for the purpose of viewing the bats during the migration (Oct-Dec). Outside of this period no-one is expected to climb it. It will deteriorate over the rainy season, and gets repaired and maintained in Aug/Sept ready for the bat migration again. This is why the previous visitor reported that it was not safe in July, but actually it is perfectly safe when used as intended, for the bat viewing! They should probably put a sign on it at other times of the year to prevent people using it unexpectedly.

Very good place with cakes, local specialties and great street food.

No cell signal, 4x4 vehicles only, not for large rigs or RVs. Plenty of fish to catch in the lake...

It is called: Klipkraal. This is a great stop ! For some reason we followed the turn off - the gps took us to the next farm. But it’s actually really easy to find just look out for the green name boards (see photos). It’s near the N7 and is a perfect place to stop for one night during a long drive. There is a wood fire shower and clean ablutions. It is R250 which you can leave in the honesty tin. You can also call ahead - see the numbers in the description. You might have to bring your own wood for the shower.

This is a large camp site around the lake formed by the Odivelas dam. If you can get a good spot there are excellent views of the lake. The facilities are generally good (but no wifi!) however it is expensive. I paid €24 per night for a Defender with a roof top tent and without electricity (2021 prices). If the place were cheaper I'd give it a high recommendation.

Came up here in a car (96 Subaru Legacy Sedan). Looping paths off the main road make up the campsites. I stopped here because the remaining part of the loop was too rocky for my comfort level. A camper trailer was parked on the other side of the rocky area so there was some distance between myself and the next camper. At least one ATV passed by and I heard dirt bikes in the distance. My spot had a fire ring. Lots of bees and flies and trash left behind by previous campers (rope, cigarette butts, and toilet paper).
