The access to the camp is extreme low range first gear 4x4, rocky inclines, steep declines and a river crossing. A stock vehicle probably shouldn’t come alone. Not for the faint hearted. BUT the reward is immense! What an incredible location, surrounded by the Chimanimani mountains, close to a lot of trails, incredible bird life, absolutely spectacular.

There are no facilities except a non flush toilet. The sites are basically just a cleared section of forest floor. Water can be fetched for you in a bucket from the river, it tasted perfect to me but I’m not super fussy. Certainly ok to cook with. No power, no cell signal, isolated.

The camp manager Mathew was an absolute legend and took great care of me. He’s no spring chicken though so hopefully he is around for years to come.
