Lot of road noice, as these spots are next to the rn3. Not possible the find a hidden spot for your car.

Great place to stay! We stayed here 4 weeks during the Corona quarantine. It's not at pretty neighborhood, but it is quiet and safe. Carrefour is within walking distance (5 minutes), center is a 20 minutes walk. The host Fabian and his wife are very friendly, but they only speak Spanish. The apartment is spacious, very clean and very comfortable. Kitchen has everything you need. Parking is on private property, in front of the owners living room.

Very friendly staff today! We could withdrawal max. 45.000 pesos, but as we needed more, so she advised us to withdrawal 45.000 each. Also you need a photocopy of your passport, which she advised us to make at the kiosk one block north (20 pesos per copy).

As described, still a very nice place to camp! Spots at the far southern end of the lake are awesome!

Don't see where all the excitement for this place is coming from... Not a bad restaurant, but definitely not an place focusing primarily on locals (menus are in English...) or with outstanding parilla or pizza.

Good and quick service (brought laundry at 10.30, could pick it up at 19.00)! Price for a big laundry basket is 650 pesos (3 big bags or roughly 8-9 kilo).

If you come from (the direction of) Rio Grande, there is a track running to the south, right after a gate on the main track (open). At the bottom of the hill, there is one camp spot (bit visible from the road), but if you head up the hill towards the end of the track (only small rigs, max 2.3 meters high), you have full privacy!

This place is right next to the road. At night there is no traffic, but until 9 pm there were cars every 10-15 minutes. In the morning, traffic started at around 8.30. If you want a bit more privacy, head down the hill towards the beginning of the grass field. From there, an ancient track (4wd/high clearance only) runs up the hill and around the trees: beautiful views and no traffic nearby!

Easy border crossing (Chile --> Argentina): no checks at all. Bridge is finished (so no rivers to cross), so this border might be open all year round...

Visible from the road, but big enough to get some distance from it. Big fire pit at the far end. Hardly any wind protection and wind direction varies (west, north and south).

Large gravel pit that also functions as a Mirador (great view!). Right next to the main road, but not visible (and hardly any traffic). No wind protection (perhaps only some for tents). First people at 8.30 in the morning.

Price today was 8.900 pesos pp for a three course meal (chicken soup, salad, offal-stew, desert, incl. coffee or tea). Times are:

Arrived here after sunset, so the tourist office was already closed, but the gate was open. Had a quiet night. Watch out for dog poo...

Road ends a few 100 meters earlier at a hacienda (inhabited) with a locked gate, so no camping possible here anymore. There is a gravel pit a few kilometers earlier, that might be suitable for camping.

We arrived here, expecting "ravines", but these are just ditches of max. 1 meter... 😂 Probably OK for a tent, but not so for a car or van.

The "alternative passage" is in very good condition. In summer (dry season) even a normal heavy car (motorhome) can cross here.

Great campsite for tents; not so great for campers. They now have obstructed every site with wooden posts, so with your car/moterhome you can only camp at one of the 3 parking lots. All parking lots have a great view though, but are also very windy. In the morning (at around 10), the guardaparqua drives around to give you a (free) permit.

As described. Max. withdrawal at WU is 40.000 pesos per transaction, and 1 transaction per person per day. No sign of WU at the outside/inside!

As described, but WiFi only works in common area. We paid 2600 pesos (30 Euro's) per night for double with private bathroom. No sign at the outside of the building. car can be parked at the back (reasonably secure).

Only visible for traffic going south and some wind protection. You need some higher clearance to get over the edge of the track (and perhaps 4wd in wet conditions). If you back up in this spot, you have some privacy at the rear of your car. Nice views 360 degrees.
