La Chacra Holandesa

We had a wonderful time with Marieke and Jan. They are lovely hosts that made us feel very welcome. The property is nice and quiet with horse pastures all around. There is a little house used as common area with toilet, hot shower and sink to wash dishes. Jan fired up a great BBQ.

Federacion Patronal Seguros

Insurance for Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil. $37 usd for one month. The other place in town couldn't do it on Saturday and referred us here.

Extragas (Arg swap only)

Gas place. 2kg for 100ARG
Quick and no problems. Don't know if they have adapters for other countries, but worth a shot. We have a small Argentinien bottle.

Camping Municipal de Santo Tomé

We found this gem of a campground in Maps.me. One of the best in Argentina we have seen. Grassy area, with BBQ and picnic tables. Older but clean sanitation. They told us potable water, but it tastes funny. Friendly staff.
It's located in a very nice neighborhood. A concrete football pitch behind the office building. Kids come and play during lunch and in evening. It is quiet and peaceful. We stayed during the week, but given the neighborhood this is in, it shouldn't get loud on the weekend either. The best part, 40 pesos for the two of us in the van.

Camping Sue

Nice big campground on the lake. Quite during the week, some road noise. Good facilities, hot showers. On the weekend many locals come out and have their BBQ. Then it can get loud during the day, but still quite at 10pm.
Also, really good mountain bike/ hiking trails in the mountains that start across the street. Beautiful views over the lake from top of the mountain.

Police checkpoint

On the way to Córdoba, police asked for drivers license and insurance.

Propane YPF (Unverified)

Very helpful man. He couldn't fill our Chilean bottle, but gave us an old 2liter camping bottle with burner. If you bring adapters for your bottle, I'm sure he will try to help.

Cerveceria Pirca

We were unlucky visiting winery's as they either didn't offer tastings that Monday or we had to wait two more hours. Then we found this gem. Very tasty beers.

La Escandinava

We needed a place to stay during a repair on our van. Met the nice owner of this cabin at the mechanic.
Very nice place on the outskirts of Villa la Angostura, with beautiful views. Tilda and Sebastián usually rent it through AirBNB. If you drive by, house number is 278.
Fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, fast wifi. Two bedrooms, one has a double bed, the other has a bunk bed and a single bed. There is pullout couch in living room. 5 people can easily sleep in the house, seven would be a squeeze. During season, it's 1600 ARS, we paid out of season special rate. Contact them in advance to see if available and regarding price. Tilda's number: +54 9 294 431-0987

Martial Glacier Parking Lot

Nice campsite just outside of Ushuaia. Fun mountain bike trails (some very technical) leading from here into town.

YPF with Hot showers

Hot showers in men's, women's only cold.

LAUNDRY "JOSSEAU"

We picked up laundry the following evening only to find briefs and several pairs of socks that didn't belong to us. Unfortunately we had clothes missing as well.

Lago Azul Camping

Best campsite for overlanders in the park. The view is amazing! We were also allowed one night.
NO FIRE and no cooking outside!
We saw a family almost getting kicked out of the park.
There are nice trails along the lake and then to a mirador. Mountain bikes are allowed, lots of fun!

Perito Moreno National Park Entrance and Registration

We love the park. Worth the detour. The hike to Laguna Pescado offers spectacular views and you feel in complete solitude.

Camping La Pasarela

Nice campground with clean facilities. Hot showers, wifi, friendly and helpful owners. Especially if you look for hiking trails they got good recommendations. Quite at night, even in high season. Many picnic benches and fire pits for BBQ. Not cheap but good option. 130ars per person. Also good option if you look for safe place for rig, close by trails for overnight hikes. They charge 100ars per night for the rig if you don't stay.

Start to trail along Rio Blanco towards Refugio Motoco

Beautiful trail along Rio Blanco towards a Refugio 7h away. You cross some Indiana Jones type bridges. Stunning views of the river.

Rio Azul Wild camp

Great camping spots along the river. As described before, if coming from south keep going past the footbridge.

Gasco propane

3750clp for 2kg tank. Other station in town sent us away even though we have Chilean tank.

Camping Los Liles

Nice campsite, with hot showers/ clean bathrooms. Great sunsets from that cliff. Pretty quiet even during peak season. Price was 10000clp for two of us. There are some great mountain bike trails (downhills expert level) on the mountain behind the campsite. Trails can be found in trailforks. One finishes at the campsite.

Campsite Orilla Verde

Very nice campsite and popular as it seems to be the only option close to downtown. In the evening they had to turn away people, as they were full. They clean bathrooms several times a day. Laundry service is 4000clp for 5kg. We paid 6000clp per person during high season.

Molco Beach camping

Highly recommend campsite. Owners are very friendly, open and really try to cater to overlanders. Speak Spanish, English and German. Washing machine (use 3000clp), no drier but when we were there it would dry in less than a day. 4 sinks for dish washing, potable water, multiple hot showers and very clean male and female bathrooms. Every site has electricity and picnic tables. Trash picked up multiple times a day from the bins at each site. We saw a grill for BBQ. Great Swimming pool and the kid in me loved the water slide. Little creek area setup as quiet area with hammocks to use. Movie showings at night. No wifi yet, but is thinking to buy router for overlanders.

Centro Cultural Villarica

Nice place. When we stayed when 5 other overlanders from France were there, too. The locals don't seem to mind. We didn't get internet access at the cultural center.

Fruit Control

Made us throw out or eat all of our fruit.

Private Parking

We also stayed here for 10soles. Nice family. Good for one night. Little hard to find. It's the lime green house with the blue gate.

Rondador Cotopaxi

Nice little hostel on side of the road, with great views of Cotopaxi. We paid $5 per person to camp in our van. We were able to take hot showers, use bathrooms, fast internet and sit at the fire place. Very friendly family. They offer food in the restaurant. If you ask nicely, they might let you cook if it's not busy.

Campsite Mitad Del Mundo

Valentin and his family are very welcoming and helpful. The equator is only a 5min walk away.
The house with the bathroom was under construction but was usable. Should soon be finished.

Tecnomotriz - Professional Auto Shop

Great mechanic. Got us immediately in and out in 2 1/2h. Our gear lever on the Vanagon broke. Luckily we were stuck in 2nd gear and could drive the 2miles to the garage. The owner has also traveled a lot himself and gave us tips of what to visit in the next countries along our route.

Ecoparque Rayos del Sol

Great place to stay. Armando made us feel very welcome and answered all our questions. We did laundry and went to Popayán. Highly recommended.

Al Bosque Hostel & Glamping

We can definitely recommend the place. Very helpful owners. Great views from the property. If you are into mountain biking, there is a nice (but advanced) trail right behind the campground. Can also be used for hiking. Nice to do laundry, too

Casa Isla de Manga

Nice, clean, newly renovated hotel (still in process of renovation). We paid $80000 cop for 4 person room. There is a sink and stove in the room. There are cheaper hostels in old town to explore Cartagena. But you can't beat the price here when picking up your vehicle. You safe on taxis, 5 min walk to most places for the vehicle process. $6000cop for breakfast, $9000cop for dinner. We cooked ourselves, so didn't try their food.
