San Miguel RV Park

Very friendly campground located in the Centro. For small and medium RV (tight turn for the entrance and the street is not large and busy. Full hookups, very clean and hot showers. Tennis courts. Quiet area. Hans, the manager is so helpful - he helps us so much when our camper van broke down. So much to visit in SMA, and the restaurants ... oh la la ! Enjoy your stay.

Grutas Tolantongo

On the road, passing by the Popocatepelt volcano (17,800 ’high) we arrived at the Tolantonga grutas for a two day camping stop May 30 to June 1. An astonishing thermal resort surrounded by magnificent mountains. We embark on a vertiginous descent into a deep canyon to reach the camping area, which runs along a a river with turquoise and thermal water. Trails lead us to the falls, tunnel, caves and thermal baths. A paradise to recharge our energies. We drove a Camper Van Ford Transit. Message for RVs: go during the week (weekend it is full pack), RV less than 30 ft., If longer, don’t even think about it: a lot of trees on river parking, many cars - you wont be able to pass ( I was driving a 40’ pusher before, and will never go down with my bus). Park where the buses are and take the shuttle to pass the day at the river or the baths.

Beach front restaurant Delphin

We stay 4 days with our camper van. Nice and cute restaurant. Paulie and her family will take care of you. Fresh fish and shrimps, ceviche etc. You can use their baños. Fishermen beach, no tourists. Peaceful, safe. Sunday family day! Only thing: Mexicans need to take care of their garbages!

Pemex gas station on toll road M40D

I spent one night. Safe and quiet. Alert: The employees are very well organized, trying to rob you of the gas transaction. I wanted to pay with my debit card (bank of Mexico), and after 3 attempts, the bank terminal refused my transaction. The employee said it was because the intenet was not good. He even gave me a cancellation ticket. So I paid him in cash, telling him that I would immediately check my bank account if it had happened. I made sure he was working all evening. Less than an hour later, my 1st bank transaction had indeed passed into my bank account. I went to see the employee, he saw that I was in a very bad mood. I requested a refund immediately. He told me to wait. I saw him pass behind the employees' building and speak to one of his friends, and I saw him taking the money out of his pockets ... and not from the cash drawer! When he came back, he handed me all my money, and I made him understand that I knew what he had done, and I pointed at the police who were right in front of me. He understood. I told him, I didn't want to have any problems for the night I would spend here with my 40 'RV. Everything ended well. Be very careful, as Pemex and some of their employees are becoming more and more cunning.

Overlander Beach Campsite “Don Taco”.

If you want to connect and be part of an open overlander community, boondocking with a unique view on the ocean ( with spectacular sunrise) relaxing on beautiful beach (fishing, snorkeling, kayak, SUP, no big waves), have the opportunity to use ultra clean shower ( only one) & toilets (2), electricity if you need to charge your techno stuffs, commun kitchen - than Don Taco is for you! If you have high expectations, like spacious space for your RV, full hookup, intimacy ( very small parking for RV), run your AC, wash your car ... than this camp is not for you! Otherwise you will really enjoy! Message to owners: you will gain by adding an extra shower and toilet, plus a bigger sink and a bigger BBQ. Hasta luego, Bernard r& Christine !

Huge Pemex Station ( facing Pemex on #150D - North direction). Secure, big parking, resto. Not too bad about noise.

Rainbow RV Park

Avons visité avec voiture: ruines, cenotes, Celestun, Progresso. Tranquillo. Sommes restés 10 jours. On recommende.

Do not call Patricio, he does not work here anymore. Contact the owner Zazil. The park is always open offering 3 services, cold water shower, day guard (Luis). For electricity attention high voltage (132). Ghostly Park, which surely has had its glory days in the past. Beautiful trees, birds. Safe with its new fence and barrier. Near the Centro (collectivo). Shopping center across the street. Have visited with car: ruins, cenotes, Celestun, Progresso. Tranquillo. Stayed 10 days. We recommend.

Maya Bell Campground

Beautiful camp near the ruins. Access more difficult for our RV of 40 'but managed to park ... in the mud because it rained a lot when we arrived. The manager asked us every day to park us better ... it was funy to explain him that 33,000 pounds is heavy, he was very stubborn! We moved one tine, you should have seen the holes! Anyway the pool is nice and clean and beautiful gardens. Surrounded by lush jungle and howler monkeys. Negative point: owner not welcoming at all (all about $$$), no smile, loud music late every night - me who wanted to listen to nature, I was damned the pawn by the "hippies" of the place!

Rancho La Mesa and RV Park

Beautiful Ranch - quiet, full hook-ups. Can walk to town. Owners are very welcoming. Be careful, the entrance to the park can be a little complicated when it's your first visit. To get to the entrance, you have to make a half turn on the 120 (after the big curve) to retrace your steps (no worries, a lot of room to do it - we are 53 'long with the car) Here are the GPS coordinates of the beginning of the entrance (near the new bridge that was redone and overlooking the # 14D: 19.494777, -101.590158 After crossing the small bridge, continue straight ahead (about .5km) and you will see the entrance arch of the Ranch.Arrive before 6pm, because the entry may be barred then.

confluence point of the Ohio and Mississippi river

San Juan del Lago

English version below.

We are driving a class A, 40 'pusher/diesel and stayed for one week. The site is located at the junction of 15 and 43, 20 minutes north of Morelia. The Campement is nestled on top of a hill and offers breathtaking views of Cuitzeo Lake, the 2nd largest in Mexico. You must book in advance at all times ( for two reasons: barrier giving access to the park is always barred (for your safety) and if you make more than 30 '(wait at point GPS following: N19.920026 W101.143565) you will need to be guided by the owner, Arturo, in order to maneuver in the narrow streets across the city. Then you will have a hill with a good inclination and in very good condition to climb. We did it without any problems.

The camp offers you:
Water, electricity 15,30 or 50 amp, and sewer.
Huge lots to park with views of the lake and the mountains. Tranquility assured. Shower and toilet immaculately clean. Public kitchen.

An excellent stop (short, medium and long term) to visit: Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary, Morelia, several Pueblo Magicos, Patzcuaro, Cuitzeo, hot springs ... Beautiful horseback rides or bikes (several trails), kayak, fishing. ..Arturo loves to serve as a guide, ask him to make you discover the region!

300 pesos/night
We definitely recommend and we will be back next fall!
