Hostal Montevideo Chic

Nice & very clean Hostel in old town, close to ferry. No breakfast included, but a very well equipped kitchen & fridge. Great rooftop terrace. It is possible to park motorbikes in the entrance, for cars there is a parking 1 block down the street which seems to be high enough. We paid around 40 US$/night for a double room.

Camping Balneario Maldonado

Huge campground with some grassy areas, grills, tables & benches. Toilets are run down but more or less clean. Showers in the camping area do not work anymore, but there are supposed to be hot showers in the day use area. 50 ARS pP/night.

Hotel Covadonga

Simple but clean Hotel in the centre of Río Gallegos. Big parking lot with an aproximate hight restriction of 3.5 meters. WiFi in Lobby & Comedor, but not in the rooms. They have rooms with private or shared bathrooms. Double with shared bathroom costs 350 ARS.

Club Nautica

We've been told by the staff of club nautico that the campground/hospedaje doesn't exist anymore.

Chaltén Mountain Repair

Daniela fixes zippers on tents, clothes and tankbags. She also repairs clothes, backpackes & bags. Next to a zapateria, where they repair shoes. Prices are really fair.

Camping El Relincho

Big campground with a really nice common area & good showers. Unfortunately, bathrooms & kitchen (well equipped) weren't really clean, but the showers are great anyway. 80 ARG pP, 15 ARG per motorbike (20 ARG per car).

Gob. Gregores Municipal Camping

Small campground with basic, clean bathrooms and hot showers 24h/day, electricity, but no WiFi.There is a grassy area for tents, rigs park in the gravel parking lot. Due to its location next to a main road, it's noisy even at night. Camping is for free, but donations are very welcomed.

Camping Trekanpangui

Small campground with grassy area for tents, rigs can stay in the parking lot (length max. 3-4 meters, no hight restriction, there isn't more space than for two vehicles). Warm showers, wifi, fogón with light & electricity. Short walk to rown center with shops, restaurants & ATM's. 4000 CLP pP/night.

Camping Arrayanes, on the Route V69

Really beautiful and quiet place. There are tables & benches and fireplaces, plenty of free wood around. 3500 CLP pP/night, with light 4000CLP pP/night.

Las Gaviatas

Campsites & bathrooms were clean & very well maintained. Hot water for showers until 11pm. Owner/staff was friendly. Some traffic noise from the nearby street. No WiFi/Internet. 10'000 CLP for two persons.

La Posta de Chaj-Paj-Naí

Very small nice campground, only for tentcamping. Almost completely covered by trees, so plenty of shade. Clean bathrooms with woodfired showers, grills and some tables. They sell cold drinks & wine and we had a barbecue here (130 pesos pp inkl. cooking lesson 😀). Access only for bicycles, motorbikes and small cars. Public WiFi from plaza should reach the campground but wasn't working while we stayed here.

Camping El Molino

The campground is well maintend, facilities are still the same, unfortunately the restrooms as well. Some of the toilets and showers even don't have doors! No one came to charge the fee, so we don't know about the rates.

Average hostel in centre of Miraflores, breakfast included in price (99 soles for a double room with private bath), big garden in the backyard for parking motorbikes.

Complejo Turistico Gemma

Big touristic complex with bungalows, swimming pool, motocross park, private zoo, etc. Several grassy spots (we could choose where we wanted to camp) & parking area. Restaurant was closed after 5.30pm. We imagine that it is very crowded on weekends.

Hacienda San Antonio, Banos del Inca, Cajamarca

Nice well maintained Hacienda, 25 Soles pP/night. They opened a room for us to use the bathroom & showers. There is a Restaurant on site but we didn't have dinner there. WiFi is included (average).

It is not allowed to camp here overnight.

Hosteria Izhcayluma

No tent camping allowed, because of some ridiculous reasons. We paid 25 US$ for a Cabaña with shared bathroom. No cooking facilities.

Laguna Llaviucu, P.N. Cajas

Camping on gravel parking lot, at nearby visitor center there are toilets and a water hose. No other facilities. We paid 4US$ pP/night, this is the normal entrance fee everyone has to pay. Very quiet at night. There was a big camper truck, so big rigs can make it to here, but the street is narrow and the bridges have a height restriction of 3.8 meter.

Refugio Laguna Toreadora, P.N. Cajas

We stayed in the basic refugio instead camping. There's a parking lot for vehicles where you can stay overnight, tents are allowed but we couldn't find a flat spot. Kitchen (with microwave), toilets & showers available, but we didn't ask for having a shower. Electricity only in the refugio. The restaurant closes at 4.30p.m. 4US$ pP/night for both camping or a bed in the refugio.

Bosque Protector Cerro Blanco, Guayaquil

We paid 4US $ pP to camp here, big gravel spot with fire places, tables & a shelter, other services see above. Not too much mosquitoes, but it was probably dry season. Some noise of a nearby factory or something else. We've been on our own here, but it might be crowded on weekends.

Mirador Ojos del Volcán

Very basic and small camping area above Baños with an amazing view on volcano Tangarahua. The owners run a small restaurant, where you can have tipical meals for a reasonable price. No running water shower, but they will heat up water to have a "hand shower".

El Caspi - Main entrance to P.N. Cotopaxi

Large gravel lot to camp with toilets and cold showers. The entrance gates close at 3 o'clock pm., so if you arrive late you can spend the night here to get into the park next day. From the lot you have a great vista on volcano Cotopaxi (but it is usually clouded until night arrives). It gets cold at night. Note: motorbikes and pets are not allowed to enter the park!

Hostal Kundur Chachagui

Really nice hostel with option to camp on grassy courtyard. All the facilities one could wish, including a swimming pool. We paid COP 15'000/pP to camp, bed in dorm available from COP 20'000/pP.

Finca Bellavista

Nice Finca with private rooms and lots of space to camp in a really nice and quiet location with good vista. There is a beautiful swimming pool with water from a nearby source and they serve really inexpensive meals in a restaurant/bar. Very nice owner and staff. We paid COP 7000,-/pP to camp here.

Little Hostel with private rooms, dorms & campsites. Peaceful & quiet, about 30 walking minutes out of Salento in a beautiful setting. No access to the property for cars/campervans. Campsite only for tents, no parking lots. Motorbikes/bicycles have access. There is a small "tienda" where they sell on site grown veggies & fruits, and a few other things (e.g. pasta, beer, ...), and they serve homemade pizzas for a reasonable price. Possibility for volunteering in the hostel.

Police Station La Pintada

Very noisy because it's right next to the street, but it's for free. They offered us to use the toilets and shower, didn't use the 2nd one. Restaurants & shop just opposite the street. There are at least 2 official campgrounds in town, both have a Balneario & other services.

Hostal Tinto
