laboratorio that does PCR tests before crossing to Nicaragua at affordable price :

"only" 29900 colones per test, you get the result the next day in the morning.

Villa Paula

The place to be before or after crossing the border. Nelson and Kattie were so kind and welcoming. lot of trees with, oranges, avocado, lemon, mangos that you can take for free!!!

Finca Rosa del Mar

beautiful campground full of animals (parrots, monkeys...) ans free mangos. Javier helped us to repair our rv, let us use the boat to discover the mangrove, was super welcoming and friendly. very good place to chill and close to manuel Antonio NP.

Los Chorros Cascadas

beautiful spot. However we arrived late (around 5 pm) and the owner was totally drunk. before entering, he spoke about a contribution for the night. but when we arrived at the spot (400m further the entry) he asked for 15k colones. we said it was a little big expensive and we tried to negociate. Suddenly he became very aggressive and wanted to fight. we left as we travel with kids. Maybe only a bad day for him?

fuente pura (agua)

gallons refill at a small water provide. the also sell smaller size. 87 cordobas for 5 gallons.

Tekas lugar familiar

informal campsite in a playground. all facilities, toilets, shower, water tap refill, 3 swimming poils.
gate closed at night and hidden from the main road, very calm.
also a restaurant opened on saturday and sunday but we were staying there during the week, so didnt try.

paid 250 lampiras per night (2 adults, 2 kids of 4 and 6).

better to call the owner before arriving as the gate was closed when we arrived at 5pm : +504 33 60 90 34.

Maybe one of the best place in Honduras as the ones existing in the app are mainly gas station or non secured parking.

Restaurant Los Remos (Security, Wifi, Great View)

restaurant with a parking lot hidden from the road and super quiet. free. the view from the terrasse is amazing. the owner is very friendly and generous. very good stop before or after crossing the northern border with Guatemala.

Marea Roja

biggest palapa of Guatemala with a parking lot with all day and night security. the most generous persons and team we ever seen in GT : they offered the dinner at night at the taqueria (the palapa's restaurant closes at 6 but the taqueria remains opened until 11pm) offered the coffee in the morning, and let us use toilets, air conditioned room...Amazing people. THE stop before heading south or north.

difficult road

road very bad. coming from el chiflon cascadas to Tapachula, Google maps brought us there. not paved, big pot holes, big stones....4wd ok but we drove with a 24feets rv and almost not doable (had to dig at some points to pass)
