Gjirokaster Kamping

Nice camping behind the restaurant with lovely owners. Clean bathrooms with hot showers. Wifi worked perfect and food in the restaurant is delicious. We paid 1000 Lek per night for 2 people and a Land Rover. It is about 5km to the historic town. Owners will call a taxi if needed.

Camping Carrera

Very nice campground above the Rhein Valley close to Ilanz. It's one of the few places without permanent campers. There are two large fields for motorhomes/vans/buses and the like and many grassy spots for tents. There's power and a common building with clean showers/toilets and sinks for dish washing. There is also a little shop and a fridge for use. Good location for hikes and mountain bike tours. Wifi is available but we didn't use. We paid CHF 35 per night for a Land Rover, 2 persons and power.

Ferienhof Rüti Morschach

Farm with beautiful campground. Very nice and friendly owners. Walking distance to cable car Stoos. Stunning vieles and good hiking aerea. Around CHF 20 per night incl power and shower.

Camping Morteratsch Plauns (Pontresina)

One of the nicest campgrounds in Switzerland! The (tent)sites in the little forest are the prettiest ones and accessible with van size cars. There are two big and modern facility buildings with very clean toilets, hot showers, sinks for dish washing and laundry facilities (washer & dryer) as well as water faucets. Power outlets (long cord needed) are all over the area. There is also a grocery shop, a kitchen for use and a small restaurant in the main building. Very nice and friendly owners. Lots of hiking options from the campground. As everything in Switzerland it has its price: we paid CHF 8.50 p/P plus CHF 12/car plus CHF 3.50 for power and Kurtaxe CHF 1.92 p/P all per night, so CHF 41 per night. Wild camping/parking is strictly forbidden in the whole region (actually in whole Switzerland)!

Camping Sonnendeck

Very nice campground at a little lake. Lots of permanent campers as usual but the setting is better than at other places. Grassy sites with power and water. Luxury facilities, hot showers and clean. Tent sites are right in front of the showers/toilets. Washing machines, cooking possibility and sinks for dish washing. Restaurant open for dinner (we didn't try). Good wifi (pay extra per hour). We paid EUR 5 p/P plus EUR 3.50 for the car (Land Rover size), power would be additional EUR 2.50.

Havenhostel Bremerhaven

Hostel with attached campground. Perfect place after you picked up your truck at the port of Bremerhaven. If you sleep in your vehicle you park on a paved road. For tents there is a big grassy field. There is a power socket (long cord needed) and a tab with potable water. Clean toilets and great hot showers. As a camper you can use all the facilities of the hostel. Camping in the car is EUR 15 per couple incl power, wifi, showers etc. There is a restaurant, breakfast buffet is EUR 7 per person. Walking distance to downtown (20min). Supermarket right across the street.

AK Design Hotel (new name will be Puerto Mercado Hotel) Montevideo

Very good value for money hotel in the old town near the port. Rooms are modern and clean. Superior rooms are more spacious and have outside windows. Good breakfast is included. Only downside is that many of the restaurants in this area are closed in the evenings. There is secure parking right next to the hotel with no hight restriction. We paid USD 55 per room/night.

Paraiso Suizo

Be aware that this is not a public campground and the owners don't want it to be advertised! They mainly offer camping to people who store their rigs at their place. No tents, no party crowds.

Camping Aebu

Large campground in a forest. Sandy sites (careful: some sites are with deep sand!) with BBQ. We didn't see power plugs but maybe there are sites with power. Clean bathrooms (no toilet seats) and hot showers. Ok for one night, but wouldnt stay longer. Wifi at the reception. We paid 366 pesos for 2 persons.

Camping Bomberos

Nice little campground of the volunteer firefighters. Very quiet on a saturday evening! Very clean bathrooms with hot showers (open all day!). BBQ and Power at site. We paid 30 pesos per person.

Camping El Niriguao

Ok campground in walking distance to town. Sites are accessable with any size car. BBQ's, tables and power at sites. Clean bathrooms with warm (not hot) showers. Better than ovejero where you have to stay in the parking lot with a camper. Good wifi! We paid 80 per person/night (no vehicle fee). Very quiet (compared to Ovejero).

Camping Lago Roca (4,4,3)

Awsome campground, one of the most beautiful we stayed in Argentina! Large sites with BBQ, table/bench combination and power/light ( 7pm - 12pm). Several water tabs in the area. Well kept, short grass and clean. Common area with kitchen and onsite restaurant. Super clean bathrooms with hot showers all day. Some sites have a beautiful view on the lake. Wifi for 15 pesos/hour extra ( 7pm - 12pm). Approx 65km to the glacier. Expensive but absolutely worth the money. We paid 120 pesos per person/night.

BBQ, tables/benches, light and power at sites. Hot showers 24h. There is an onsite restaurant which we didn't try. We paid 75 pesos per person.

Gob. Gregorio Municipal Camping

Free Municipal campgound with bathrooms and hot showers. Small grassy area only for tents. If you sleep in your car you have to stay in the parking lot with very bright lights the whole night. BBQ's and a table/bench combination. Very nice people who run the place. Free, we left a propina. If you're headed to El Chalten buy grocery here at La Anonima!

Albergue Alacaluf

The germans Thomas and Katrin run a little hospedaje and offer camping as well. To camp you can eather stay in a spot at the hostel or on a very beautiful piece of land at the river 2km east towards Puerto Rio Tranquilo (no facilities). They also offer meals for lunch and dinner. To the mirador of the glacier it's another 8km west. We paid 1'000 pesos per person (plus 1'500 pesos for the shower).

Casa Ludwig Puyuhuapi

All the campgrounds in town are not suitable if you sleep in your car. This snug hostel is owned by the daughter of one of the pioneers who built this village. There are different options of rooms. We had a matrimonial with shared bathroom incl breakfast for 30'000 pesos per night. It's cozy and you can use the huge kitchen.

Yelcho En La Patagonia

This beautiful lodge at lago Yelcho offers rooms, cabañas and camping. The campground is awesome. Large sites with covered table/bench combination, power, light and BBQ. Wood is provided every day and included in the price. Several water faucets on the campground. Sinks for dish washing. Clean bathrooms with hot shower. Wifi and excellent restaurant (expensive!) in the main building. Hiking trails from the lodge and rental of kayaks, horse trekking etc. We paid 15000 pesos per site (4 people). The rooms and cabañas are expensive like everywhere on the Carretera Austral.

Camping Los Alamos

Cabañas and camping. There are 4 sites for camping with power, tables (under palapa) and grill. Camping is 7000 pesos for 2 persons. As it was pooring down we took a cabin. They are nice, however the kitchen is poorly equiped. The shower was only lukewarm. We paid 30000 for the cabin.

El Yeti

Ok campground close to town. Sites are fairly tight and close to each other. All have BBQ, some have tables and chairs. Clean bathrooms with hot shower. Expensive with 100 pesos per person plus 10 pesos for the wifi per day.

Camping ACA San Martin

Camping was closed when we were there (18 December 2014). Looks not very promising (dark sites) but close to town.

Large campground at the river. Spacious sites with BBQ, water and electricity. Clean bathrooms and showers with hot water. Wifi (worked not all the time). Walking distance to town. Expensive (80 pesos per person).

Camping Don Cirilo

Beautiful and well kept campground at Lago Aluminé. Some sites are waterfront, but more windy and cooler. Great hot showers, very clean bathrooms. Sinks with hot water to wash dishes and clothes. Wifi was weak and slow. We paid 60 pesos per person.

Camping Municipal, Las Lajas

Nice campground in an ugly town. BBQ, water and power at sites. Hot showers and super clean bathrooms. Wifi was slow. We paid 75 pesos per vehicle and 20 pesos per person.

Monster 4x4 Santiago

Shop specialized in 4x4 equipment. We had to buy new shocks and were served here very well and friendly. They know their business and try to find the best solution. Not the cheapest but good service.

Hotel Ibis Valparaiso

Great location at the port, good value for money. 31'000 pesos per room per night (excl breakfast). There is a parking garage with hight restriction 2.20m wich costs 4400 pesos per day.

Camping El Bosque

Very run down. Bathrooms are filthy and not cleaned for ever. Sites have tables and BBQ's but all in a bad shape. The location would be nice. The price would have been 7'000 pesos per person, but we complained about the cleaniness and so the price was reduced to 6'000 pesos.

Cabañas Pisco Elqui

Cabañas with own kitchen, terasse and large beautiful gardens. Two pools. Clean and comfortable. We ended up here as we didn't find a nice campground suitable for cars in Pisco Elqui. Very nice owner. We paid 50'000 pesos for two nights (one night would be 30'000).

Camping And Cabañas Bahia Inglesia

Large campground overlooking the bay. Huge fences which block access to the beach. Every site has a BBQ and table/chair combination. Hot showers turned out to be cold and dirty. All a bit run down and lots of garbage on the sites. No wifi. We paid 5'000 pesos person. Too expensive for what it is. If you dont need a shower better go for wild camping at the beach!

Camping Los Pinguinos Parque Pan De Azucar

Lovely campground at the beach. Each site has a palapa with table and chairs, some have BBQ. Cold showers and toilets. Walking distance to restaurants. We paid 4000 pesos per person.
