Parque Aventura

wanted to stay at this place for one night, but the gate was locked and the pools were empty. there was a man inside (owner?) - he told us that the park is still closed due to the pandemic and that it's not possible to camp.

Vida Nueva Women‘s Weaving Cooperative

Vida Nueva is an all-women cooperative. It‘s a lovely local community to advance women‘s rights. If you want to buy some beautiful, really local „artesania“, this is the right place for you.

At this place they sell all the women‘s beautifully designed rugs, bags, pillow covers etc. They have traditional and modern designs and only use natural dyes. The woman who made the rug gets 100 % of the price you pay.

While we were there, they showed us some rugs and then we could take our time and watch through all the different styles. So it was a really nice, stress-free shopping experience. They answered all our questions about their work and project.

The house is a bit hidden, but there is a gate with a „Vida Nueva“ sign on it. Just knock on the gate and they will welcome you.

Finca Santa Monica

same campground as "xilitla finca".
we had to pay 100pesos/person. no internet. showers with hot water and toilets were clean. nice and quiet place close to las pozas.

Casa de Salto Aventura

This is a very special place. The family who runs "Salto Aventura" offers also camping at their house. It's not like a campground but there is space for a small van up to 6m and also one for a tent, inside the gate. If the van doesn't fit its also possible to park on the street. You can use their toilet and shower.
They are very friendly and even prepared some dinner for us.
The best way to ask for the camping is to meet them at the parking lot of Cascada Salto where they sell some food and offer tours. Look for Zugy and ask her about the camping.
They told us that they dont't have fixed prices, but if you want to support them you can pay something.
It's about a 10min walk to the Cascada Salto.

Roadside Tacos Guisados and Plates

small restaurant with great simple mexican food. the day we visited they didnt have any vegetarian menu, but it was no problem for them to prepare a vegetarian (or even vegan) dish with nopales. very friendly people.

Las Cascadas y el Paraiso

as you can see in the photos it's a beautiful place - you can camp right next the waterfall, pool and river.
no wifi available. bathrooms were ok, cold showers.
the owner told us that the price for 1 night is 400 pesos, if we stay 2 nights or more it's 300 pesos. there is a small restaurant and panaderia on site, but due to the pandemic it's only open at the weekend or when there are a lot of guests.

Campamemto Tu Espacio

„Tu espacio“ is a small campground, run by a family, who also offers hot showers and toilets to the visitors of the waterfalls.
It‘s a nice garden with lots of trees. Suitable for tents and smaller vehicles.
No wifi available. See photo with pricelist. We paid 170 pesos/night (small van, 2 adults —> 100 for the camping, 25 for the shower each, 10 for the toilet each),

San Miguel RV Park

Location is great and the park is well maintained with nice bathrooms, hot showers, strong wifi. Price is 380 pesos per night (small van, 2 adults).

Morrill RV Park

It is open!

It was closed for some months because they didn‘t have any guests but now the place is open again.

Roca Azul RV Park & Home Mobile Community

We were told that the price is now 350 pesos per night.
We tried to get a spot for 300 pesos because we didn‘t need water, electricity or anything and on the price list outside the reception it still says it‘s 300. They showed us the „new price list“ inside the reception where it says 350 pesos.

Las Olas Overland

Beautiful spot with palmtrees, ocean view, access to the beach, pool, hot showers, wifi. Very friendly and helpful owners.

Stoners Surf Camp

As described before. It was 100 pesos/per person per night. Be aware of the bugs!

Playa de Pichilingue

As described before. We stayed on a sunday - during the day there were many people partying but they left in the evening so we had a quiet night.
