August 26th, 2017 Magazinstraße

This is an informal parking space for people who have their garden in the big garden-colony "Hellersiedlung". Be modest!
A petrol station is close by, maybe there is a toilet.
Hiking trails pass by. If you go around the garden colony you pass the former military airfield of the Russian Army which is a re-naturalised nice meadow now. The gardens of Hellersiedlung were a military airfield before 1945. Near there is also the forest "Junge Heide" and the huge Dresden forest "Heide".
Dresden's nightlife neighbourhood Neustadt and Industriegelände is also near. The Trams 8 and 7 stop there and go directly into Neustadt and into the city center.
It's noisy because huge Königsbrücker Str. is near. Another possibility is to go the Magazinstraße toward south, it's more quiet there.

August 26th, 2017 Diesbar-Seußlitz, Radewitzer Str.

It's a parking space for strollers equipped with table and bench and situated next to a huge fortress from the Bronze Age (now a vineyard, an educational trail explains that). The view over the river Elbe is exceptional.
Down the hill there are some restaurants, it's quite a touristy area but the landscape is very beautiful.

August 26th, 2017 Mala Upa, Sudeten Mountains

A parking space next to the street, huge, for hikers. Some trees and bushes. The guesthouse across the street was abandoned in 2015, so no one took notice of us.

August 24th, 2017 Entrance to Hellersiedlung

This is an informal parking space for people who have their garden in the big garden-colony "Hellersiedlung". Be modest!
Near there are two hills (one with and one without trees) to watch whole Dresden from above. At good wheather conditions you can see the mountains of Saxon Switzerland or even the first mountains of Czech Republik. Also hiking trails pass by. If you go around the hill (with trees) you pass the former military airfield of the Russian Army which is a re-naturalised nice meadow now. Also the gardens of Hellersiedlung werea military airfield before 1945. Near there is also the forest "Junge Heide" and the huge Dresden forest "Heide". Also near is Dresden's nightlife neighbourhood Neustadt and Industriegelände.
Another possibility is the quiet public street Magazinstraße near there (51.092302, 13.765152), it's the other entrance to Hellersiedlung, but noisier.

August 20th, 2017 Berli, Treptower Park

Parking space for free.
For old diesel-cars this is the last parking space before the forbidden area: the "Hundekopf", which is the wider city centre of Berlin marked by the circular line of the S-Bahn (Underground).
Nearby is the S-Bahn-station "Treptower Park" for going deeper into te city. The river Spree is near. Some Trees and Bushes provide shadow. Somewhere in the park (closer to the S-Bahn-station) there is a public toilet.
Across the (noisy) street there is the "Treptower Ehrenmal", which is a huge memorial built by the Red Army in 1945 in honour to their massive losses while fighting fascism.

August 19th, 2017 Milesovka

It's a parking space at the foot of mount Milešovka.
It was always ok to stay there one night beeing very modest and showing no camping gear outside (some people are living right there).
At weekends and in holidays many hikers pass by in the morning to conquer mount Milesovka. Indeed its a very nice hike of 2 or 3 hours (plus the time drinking beer in the mountain hut).
The parking space is also frequented by local soccer players and kids who use the various playgrounds.

August 18th, 2017 Autocamping Velký Vír

Camping place situated at the reservoir lake of river Moldavia. Swimming is nice. Some Peoply are fishing or going by boat. There is also a stop of public transport by boat or ship which goes every 2 or 3 hours in both directions on the river. It stops for instance at Renaissance castle Orlík.
A van costs about 3 EUR, one person 2 EUR.

August 17th, 2017 Van Parking Space Sauris

Unbelievable but true: It doesn't cost nothing but you get a toilet, shower, electricity and water on the first two terraces. Above there are more terraces without electricity. Water is in the Bathroom at the corner of the nearby building. The place is run by the company Wolf net to it who is maybe interested in Tourists buying their ham and sausage (but I'm vegan, haha!)
In high season it might be full or nearly full but maybe you find a place anyway.

August 13th, 2017 Kamp Triglav

Nice official camping ground in the nature reserve, with clean toilet, shower, electricity, bus stop (to go to Bovec, Vršič pass, Kranjska Gora or Ljubljana). If its full (which can happen in high season) they have some extra space behind the official camping site for vans.

August 8th, 2017 Camp Zlatorog Bohinj

In high season the place was totally overcrowded for days. It's a problem because in that wildlife park area wild camping is totally forbidden. All the parking lots in Ukanc are controlled by the police daily. Sometimes they "accept" camper in those days if they pay 5€ parking fine per day.

June 3rd, 2017 Rybnik Rožumberk

Small parking space near the rybnik/fish farm pond Rožumberk near small town Třeboň. We spent one night off season at weekend with no camping gear visible. It was nice. In the morning many cyclists and some cars with strollers passed by. But there they had no problem with us. Maybe they were attracted by the snack stand/kiosk near there.
The pond is very nice to look at but the murky water didn't attract me to swim. It was nice to go by bike around the pond. There is an educational trail about the history of the pond which is quite interesting.

September 2nd, 2016 Hilltop View

Parking Space on top of a hill with fancy view over the river Dunabe, Bratislava and to an Austrian castle. In the night sometimes drunken youngsters with cars.

August 11th, 2016 Brno-Bystrc, Street Rakovecká

This place is noisy in the night because of the traffic (earplugs help). So it's more a makeshift solution for staying in Brno (in bike distance). But a big plus is the lake. There is a path through bushes and trees down to the water, and swimming in the lake is possible.
Another path leads to a garden which seemed to be private property without a fence – it's good to respect it and not to enter the garden.

August 6th, 2015 Parkoviště pod Sněžníkem

Parking space at the foot of the mountain Sněžník, costs about 1.50 EUR or 30 Czech Crowns per day. For many People it's a starting point to hike or bike on top of mountain Sněžník. No trees, no bushes, shadow. There is also a Bus Stop.

August 5th, 2015 Autokemp pod Císařem

It's situated in a valley basin at the end of Bielatal (Biela valley) coming from north from Germany. There are Hiking Trails (for instance to Bielatal) and climbing possibilities.
It's cheaper here than staying on the German site of Elbe Sandstone Mountains.

July 7th, 2015 Tiske Stěny

Parking space for visiting the landscape Tiske Stěny. It's near the street but there's not so much traffic. Turistická chata Tisá (mountin lodge) is nearby and contains a restaurant and toilets. Some hiking trails start there.
The entrance to Tiske Stěny costs 1 EUR. The Tiske Stěny are beautiful sandstone rocks, a rare example of sandstone karst and absolutely worth seeing.

May 25th, 2015 Pöhlberg

It's a parking lot on Pöhlberg, the mountain above the small town Annaberg-Buchholz. The view was great. But in the night drunken youth with noisy cars stopped by and listened to eastgerman Nazi-music.

September 12th, 2014 Masarykova

There is the alternative autonomous center around the corner, vans might be accepted because of that acitivity.

May 26th, 2014 Klinovec

i've been on mouont klinovec and i'm absolutley sure that it is somewhere else: 50° 23′ 45″ N, 12° 58′ 4″

September 15th, 2010 Punta Sabbioni

Punta Sabbioni is quite a good start to visit Venice. It's an official place for about 30 camper. It costs 20-23 EUR for 2 persons and one van, electricity is 3 EUR extra. The strand is quite near. Also quite near is the pubic ship to Venice which departes every 30 minutes.
