Fun little museum with the owners collections of pencils, key rings, ashtrays and perfumes. Free entry and cheese and jam tasting. Asked and we were allowed to camp. very clean bathrooms, no showers.

Didn't stay but asked to use the shower which we could for U100 pp. Best shower seemed to be the one on the right hand side of the courtyard.

4runner with rooftent. There is an official motor home camping spot close to the bullring, but we camped here along with 4 other vehicles and no one seemed bothered. Quiet at night.

large flat area past the restaurant. Road is busy so can be noisy. Good wifi and facilities. Didn't try the shower.

wanted 25pp for showers. wifi wasn't working, we went to the YPF north of town instead.

still here, still working! only water source available. .. visitor centre and YPF only offer bottles.

4runner/ rooftent No park fees at this time of year. best spots for vehicles is if you continue right around to the right, no posts blocking you and level enough areas. some trees for wind protection but still when we were here. lovely and quiet! ranger came in the morning and apparently we should have told them at the gate we were camping and got a free permit.

Traditional tea room. Not the cheapest but good tea and large selection of cakes and scones. What cakes we didn't eat we could tale away with us. Accepts credit cards.

small trattoria with a varied menu and large home cooked portions, friendly service. Definitely filled a gap well! intermittent wifi.

Good place for the night, not too noisy considering. Nice on sight cafe, parrilla opposite does not open until late (9pm). WiFi password still [password deleted-please do not add passwords]

Excellent spot for overlanders, everything you need to recharge and very friendly host. Don't rely on wifi, but so worth it for everything else. Sure to become the go to place in San Pedro.

Looks like this is no longer going to be a free hot springs... came past on easter Saturday ready for a wash and there's a tented workforce of about 40. wheelbarrows, pick axes etc. Definitely building something!

there was noise, especially during the day and can imagine you'd not want to deal with it if unwell. breakfast was good, we paid 60pppn no negotiating taken! good kitchen and best suicide showers I've ever used, hot and decent amount of water.

this road is not the route you should follow if you're crossing between tilali and puerto acosta. we did immigration at tilali, followed the signs to the aduana, then single track cross country (road doesn't show on ioverlander) to p acosta.

Parked our 4runner here for 2 nights with no problem. Friendly chap directed us to parking spot. 10S/night. Hike in to Agua Calientes very straightforward , follow the signs.

Worth a small detour to see this bridge. At time of visit the river is raging under it making it an even more impressive sight.

4runner with 4x4. Got to the crossing but the river is in full spate and we decided not to cross.

Nice clean motel with secure parking. Probably still a love hotel but less obvious than some. 50s for a room.

March 8th, 2018 Laguna Artesoncocha

Nice little extra hike once you reach the top of the lake. We could not cross the stream at the main point on the track as there was too much water, and a number of rivers but we managed to find crossings upstream.

March 5th, 2018 Quiet valley camp spot

4runner with rooftent. A relatively flat area just off the road. We took the 907 road from Humachoca then onto the An101 (google map numbers). The road is unpaved a little rutted but not too difficult but slow. 4wd recommended. Views are stunning. AN101 increasingly isolated and rural. Highest elevation was 4600m.

Lovely cafe , good coffee and hot chocolate. Perfect to wait in until the museum opens at 10. Amazing number of hummingbirds. WiFi did not connect. Good bathrooms. 😊

4runner w. rtt. As described a lovely spot with space for a couple of vehicles on level ground. Good facilities, clean and tidy. Can use kitchen. Plenty of hot water. WiFi was intermittent.

February 26th, 2018 Fondue Garden

Great restaurant, proper fondue at reasonable price. Had a bottle of Malbec for $20 tasty but wish we had brought our own. Recommend if you like cheese.
