A primitive pullout at the bend in the river. Tall pines with no amenities. Camping is FREE throughout the WMA. Gorgeous.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
This spot is now closed to motor vehicles due to littering. There’s still a few spots to pull off and park along the road you just can’t park down by the water anymore
Report Check-Inits a decent spot, got in with my 2wd sedan, road has a lot of holes probably made by 4wd trucks but i was able to manuver around them just fine, if its muddy i wouldnt recommend a 2wd tho. there were 3 spots to camp in from what i could see and the rest of the road was blocked off, 2 of the sites are next to the river and the other one is on the opposite and its a pull through, it wasnt a place i would pick to spend more than one night simply bc its pretty boring. just very florida, i just spent the night there omw up to georgia, not rlly anything great about it
Report Check-Indidn't find any hiking trails except little ones to get to the water.
Report Check-InNice spot, got here easily w my 2WD van, some mud and puddles but mostly dry.
Parked near the boat ramp last night but was in and out of Verizon coverage. Here I'm toggling between 1 and 2 bars.
Kinda depressing all the evidence of jerks, that I don't think are campers. seriously, litter is still a thing?
Gorgeous forest and river. Me and my dog are the only ones here. Ahhh.
The road is a little tricky towards the end but totally worth it. Beautiful, quiet at night.
Report Check-InGreat spot, super quiet other than the odd plane or helicopter. We had the area to ourselves in late January. Road coming in has some larger pot holes but was easily manageable in a 2 wheel drive van. Definitely wouldn’t bring anything bigger than that as turnaround room is limited. Not much firewood around at all. Some cell service. Fairly clean so hopefully it stays that way.
Report Check-InGood views, tent camping. Several spots and parking. Pack out your trash and TREAD LIGHTLY!
