Colombia
You will be entirely stopped many different times between Pasto and Ipiales, for about 20 minutes each time. Don't start this drive in the late afternoon - it will take much longer than you think. We've been driving already 3 hours from Pasto and stopped yet again. On the bright side - fascinating to see the construction in this steep canyon, and I'm sure the road will be much improved in future!
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Passed with no stops for construction around 4:30 pm on a Monday. 1 1/2 hours, no problems. We drove by 2 empty construction sites. Safe travels!
Report Check-Inwe needed 6 hours on a Friday afternoon to go from pasto to the border.
was horrible.
the street is closed from 9.00 am until 6.00 pm everyday.
Still going on. Manage your time and plan some extra for delays.
Report Check-InThis spectacular road takes longer than my GPS computed and longer than Google Maps 'measured', because of the impressive road construction going on. But you get to watch (or study) the great valleys and infrastructure being built during obligatory driving breaks.
Traffic is a bit agressive, as everyone tries to race from one stop to the next. Like others said, allow ample time and start early.
Report Check-InStayed here about 25m too, many men working and trucks! Take careful
Report Check-InThis is the worst road in the world. You will be stopped for HOURS. Literally any other route is better. Walking would be faster. I hate this road.
Report Check-InThe road is still under reconstruction. During the day there was heavy traffic. It took us almost 4 hours from San Juan to Pasto. We start after 9 am. Maybe there is less traffic in the late evening or early morning, don’t know if they working just during day or 24/7.
Report Check-Inno problem for us. no one stopped us. only once or twice, at the rnd (near Pasto) but no more than 5min en total
Report Check-InStill under construction and will be for what looks like years to come. Count on 3 1/2 hours to do this route.
