There are two trips to make A) walk with two groups of monkeys through the forest and a hortibotanical walk. To this can be added a cultural visit to a nearby village.(160K CFA the village visit not included). B) visit the chimpansees (240K CFA).

I opted for A) and had an really nice time travelling with the mangabey monkeys for a few hours. Just follow the crowd and make a kazillion photos. The colobo rouge monkey was more difficult to follow because they were in very high trees.

All in all very spectacular.

Staying in the forest is not so easy. It is a long walk and very humid. Everything is continuously damp. For me... two nights was enough. It was amazing, but strenuous at the same time.

Staff at the camp are all wonderful and they try their best to cater to your needs.

If you have the chance (time and budget), dont skip this. It is a life long memory of a unique experience.

Really welcoming and professional and passionate people !
This is a place where they can make you visit the amazing national park of Tai, but from here you can't go and see the Chimpanze, they have 2 other monkey species. The Chimpanze are more at the south of the park, you have to go to the Tai Lodge.
When you sleep in the forest it is in a set up camp with big tents, beds, toilet and water.

They also have en EcoMusee in Tai, which is free, really small but worth visiting to mert to great people involved in the preservation of the park, they will explain things about Chimpanze and there is also some local projects about permaculture, apiculture and cacao products that you can buy !!

This is NOT the place to organize a trip to see the chimpanzees. We wasted about an hour negotiating and after they told us that we have to drive further south. Prices are good though compared to the ones at the Tai River Lodges (160K negotiated down to 150K per person for two nights vs. 350K). A good choice if you want to see the forest but not the chimpanzees.

Website is www.ecotourismetai.com, make sure you arrange everything a few days before arriving if you don't want to waste a day.

Karola and Marléne, the two contact persons, are super friendly and helpful. Here you can organise your trip in the Nationalparc of Taï. We spent 2 nights at the wonderful bush camp directly in the forest, where you sleep in big tents with normal beds and mosquito nets. You have to walk 10km to get there, a guide is obligatory. Cars a not allowed. On the next day we did a Tour to the Magabe monkeys, which was very nice. Moreover we learned something about the flora of the forest and have seen different monkeys in the evening.
For the 2 nights you pay 167000 CFA pp all-in, including meals, guide, bed, Covid rapid-test (obligatory before entering the parc, they have tests for you) etc.

All in all it is quite expensive, but definately worth it and you support the conservation of the forest. Just make you sure how you get to Taï. From Guiglo it's another 80km only dust road. 1.5h-2h by motorbike, but afterwards you look like an African yourselves or you take the local transport of which you never know how long it takes. Our trip from Man to Taï (200km) for example took us 9h and another 2h discussing at the Gare Routiere in Man...
