Also you can buy homemade delicious fresh bread just ask to the manager. Really recommanded !

Report Check-In

Very nice place. Only 3 places for campsite (soon 4 when they will have finished to build the bathroom of this one). Each campsite is big, with private bathroom, sink, shade, really really quiet. The bar is nice and not too expensive. The staff is amazing and friendly. We really loved our stay here. Price 2024 is the same than 2023 :200N p.p.p.n and they accept the dog.

Report Check-In

Very nice and beautiful campsite. We stayed at campsite 1 which is right to the river. Very friendly people around. We did canoeing and himba tour which was very nice. stayed two nights.

Report Check-In

Excellent place next to the river with beautiful scenery.
Fair price at 200N$ pppn for top notch service. Fire wood is included, private ablutions perfeclty clean (donkey shower) and every spot offers a stunning view. Cherry on the cake, the swimming pool overlooking the place from where you can chill, sipping a refreshing beer in an ice-cooled glass is a blessing.
Enjoy!

Camp Cornie and what a piece of paradise it is. About 23 km from Epupa Falls on the banks of the Kunene. There are 3 camp sites plus a tented option. We are in campsite 1 with a magnificent view over the river. The sites are huge and spaced well apart ftom each other. Our site has its own private facilities with 220v hook up and plenty of piping hot water from the donkey boiler which is lit for you. Braai wood is provided.

At the moment the site is undergoing improvements. There is a lovely pool and the owner is busy completing the bar area etc. You can get ice cold drinks and braai packs.

We reached Camp Cornie from Epupa on the D3700. Not a road for the faint hearted however that wasn’t the thing that bothered us. As with the road from Opowu it was the endless suicidal kids jumping into the road. At one point we slowed down to avoid a youngster 13-14 who was refusing to move from the middle of the road. As we pulled to the left he jumped to the left too. Silly, silly, silly.

The road from Opowu is not great with some very deep dips that you absolutely have to slow down for. We averaged around 60 km per hour and took our time. So those of you attempting to drive from anywhere beyond Opowu in a day I would suggest you reconsider.

What a little paradise... This has to be one the best campsite in the whole world. The manager Jan is a beautiful human beeing and he made us feel like home from the first minute we were there. There is still some work going on at the place but the swimming pool is nice and ready, and the work is not that an inconvienent, they turn on the ciment mixer sporadicly and it didnt bother us much. They expect the work fully done by mid-may. Hot shower, private ablutions, free wood for bbc, free 220 V at camp, ok wifi at the pool, lot of privacy in every campsite (only 3, very spread out). Fresh 50 cl beers for 30 ND, delicious meat for bbc at fair price (we bought 6 game sausages for 60). They can organise really beautiful canoe trip for 700 pp, where you can spot some crocodiles if your are lucky (we saw a big one and a few smaller). Spectacular view over the Kunene at camp 1. A pack of cute vervet monkeys come at the camp every day. They are just fun to watch and dont steal food (please dont feed them).
200 ND pp
Was very hard for us to leave Jan and the camp, where we felt like family. Came for 1 night and stayed 5. Amazing place.

What a lovely tranquil setting . Clean ablutions, cold cooldrinks and friendly dog. Jan is currently assisting Tina but he is a informative host about the area and knows the local people if any info is needed.

Report Check-In

Great place to overnight or longer. Very peaceful and relaxing.

Report Check-In

Our best camp in Namibia so far, great host in the absence of Tina. Cold beers, great dog, beautiful views and what a surrounding area. Lovely and clean shower and toilet with hot water. Free internet. More people should stay here instead of at the waterfalls.

Report Check-In

Beautifully located right on the Kunene river, very nice people there. Firewood is provided, hammocks and cold drinks. a place to stay longer

Report Check-In

Very nice camp just below palm trees, on the sand. The owner is very helpful, 200ppn for adults only, Braai Wood included.
You Can see Big crocodiles in the River, porc Epic on site, free wifi (quite good signal), and obviously "cold ice beer" !!
We recommend!
The owner Can organize some visits with Himba's, just tell him if you want and he Can contact the chief of the village.

Report Check-In

All as described below. Very nice! Unfortunately too hot in this season and shade provided only by the beautiful palm tree forest wasn't enough since we had to move every 5 minutes to run away from the sun! How tempting it was to jump into that river full of crocodiles! 😂 Would have liked to spend 2 nights but only stayed 1. Wifi is totally free and works great at campsite 1. No MTC signal.

Report Check-In

One of our best campsites!
On the river, palm trees, and sand. Feels like heaven. Shaded good enough.
Only 3 sites and some tented camp, and enough space between each other.
Each site with shower (donkey/ gas. Donkey was excellent!) And toilet. Good and clean. No electricity at site.
150pp/pn.

Report Check-In

We felt like in the caribian. Very warm welcome from the whole family and realy cold beer.

Beautiful Campsite with amazing hosts. Definitely worth stopping for a night or 2. phenomenal sunset over the river and plenty of birds. So peaceful after the bustle of Epupa. Private ablutions at each campsite. Free firewood. Good WiFi.
Cold beer available.

Report Check-In

Infortunately Cornie passed away unexpected in April - RIP.
His wife Tina does continue to run the place with help from the family. We stayed at this beautiful place before and are very happy that it is still open, still beautiful, well kept, the cold beer is still available and the tame porcipine is still there We enjoyed our two nights

Report Check-In

Nice place as described. Friendly chap, definitely a people person. Beers 40 per can. Minimum 200 per person donation for the medicine when you visit the himba. Interesting to see how he helps them. If the level is low in the well, the river water is in the system for the shower and taps etc.

Report Check-In

Very Nixe and quiet Campsite. The Owner ist very helpful and hast a lot of information about the area. Excursions can be booked. And there ist cold Beer available at all the Times.

Nice camp with open air toilets and showers. Owner very friendly. As described by others. Price is now 200 N$ pppn. Including free fire wood. Cold drinks available.

Report Check-In

Campsite so nice under palms on sandy ground gives you a feeling like paradise directly at Cunene river. The owner Cornie is very friendly and helpful. You get firewood for free. Outdoor facilities with clear running water.
I stopped here last year for my first time about the sign „ice cold beer“ and I’ll come back when ever I’ll be in this area.

Report Check-In

Favorite spot in Namibia. Cornie is the ultimate host. Can listen to his stories about Namibia for hours. If you need anything, he’ll help out - whether it’s advice, a pot to cook, a fishing rod. On top of that, the campsite is unbelievable - right on the river under palm trees. Truly a paradise not to be missed.

Report Check-In

One of the best camping spots in Namibia. Beautiful spots right at the river. Very friendly owners. Cornie has so much knowledge about Namibia and the whole situation around this place. Make sure to do a Himba Tour with him. He won't offer it to you, but he is happy to take you and it is very worth going with him. It is not touristic and he doesn't keep the 300ND for himself, but buys medicine for the village.
The ablutions are super and you will be provided with firewood. Go there, even if you stayed at Epupa before. It is definitely worth it!

Report Check-In

What a nice place! You camp between the palmtrees on the sand with a beautiful view at the river and the mountains in Angola, it feels like paradise. Each site has it's own ablutions in a canvas tent and a fire place. Cornie and Tia are great people! Cornie took us to a Himba village, he has a good relationship with the headmen and it was very interesting to meet these people. It was no tourist set up, no dancing and singing, you can just have a look how they live. Cornie gives them medical supports and from the money you pay for the visit he buys medicine for them.
We can highly recommend this place on a quiet stretch of the river.

There's WiFi for free.
Camping is 150$N p.p.p.n. and the Himba tour is 300$N p.p.

Report Check-In

We only stopped by to take a look on the way to Kunene. Campsite is very beautiful with amazing ablutions set up in the tents. The owners are super friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth staying.

Appart that the place is beautifull, Well maintened and welcoming, you'll meet there reals people with big heart.

Thank's for this humanity and happiness you live and share simply!

One of our best stay in Namibia!

Report Check-In

We stayed at Camp Cornie after an aborted trip to Swartbooisdrift (we can't cross the running riverbed).
Cornie supported us perfectly with warm showers, cold beer and a super internet when we arrived at sunset. Also he has a great knowledge about the region and is always available if you need assistance.
When you pass along the Kunene river I think it is recommended to stop at Camp Cornie!

Report Check-In

We've visited Cornie and Tia in December and when we arrived at the camp, Cornie immediately showed us his surroundings, brought a cold beer and told us about his lifestyle.

The camp is simple in one way, but absolutely lovely in the other and both of the guys are doing a lot for letting their customers feeling very well. We initially wanted to stay for just one night, but extended our stay.
The Wifi worked good so far, as well as we got electricity.

Camp Cornie is a must visit and one of the nicest campsites in Namibia.

Prices are N$ 200pPpN, incl. car.

Report Check-In

Came for a quick beer, but Cornie’s character and amazing camp made us write the whole day off and stay here.
A FANTASTIC camp with a host that goes above and beyond for you.
PLEASE DO NOT MISS THIS 10/10 CAMPSITE!!!!!!

Report Check-In

The camp is located on the banks of the Kunene River and gives a nice view to Angola. What this place, with its nice palm trees, good ablutions, and river view makes so special are Cornelius and his wife. They have a great knowledge about the area, give good advice where to go to, bake great bread, but more important: they help the local community. Keep up the good work!

Report Check-In

Very beautiful like paradise. At the river an under palm trees. The whole place is sandy. Nicest campspot I had the last few months. Cornie and his wife are super friendly and helpfully. I just want to stay for lunch, but after I got the best omelet ever I decided to stay her for the rest of the day and night.
The facilitys are basic but absolute clean.
I can recommend this place!

Report Check-In

Beautiful little paradise. So nice people running it. Lot of what they earn for camping goes to helping the Himbas. They come here for medicin and Cornelius helps them in the best and honest way. It felt much nicer meeting the Himbas here than at all the tourist places.

Report Check-In

Great! What a place, it’s beautiful. However, what makes this place is Corne and his Wife in 10 months on the road we haven’t had such a warm and attentive host as Corne. Don’t of knowledge and happy to share it. It’s worth staying just to meet him!

Report Check-In

this place is Unreal! the hosts Corne and Tia are so lovely we felt like we were camping at home! the sites are insanely beautiful and peaceful! right on the river with hammocks and everything you need! the wifi is good! nice to connect with home 👌🏼definitely the best camping we've had on our trip from cape Town to the top of Namibia! Will have to come back and visit again! miss camp cornie already! 😁 Corne helped us fix our bikes up and get ready for the road! so happy to help and very knowledgeable on mechanics! a great stop for any adventure!

Beautiful campsite at the Kunene river, underneath the palm trees. Camping is N$ 200 pppn including WiFi and firewood (or 150 pppn without WiFi and firewood). Ablutions are clean. Cornie is very friendly and helped us with our itinerary through Kaokoveld.
Definitely recommended. The road to the camp from Ruacana is beautiful btw and easily passable.

The campsites and tents for rent having a fanatastic vieuw on the Kunene river.
You have your own abolustionblock with good waterpresure. Recommanded!
Normaly it cost 200 pp, but because we stayed here two night we could sleep for 150 pp.

Report Check-In

Cornie and his wife Tia created a little paradise right at the Cunene river. You can camp there or stay in a Safari-tent. Everything clean and in good condition as it is just established in May 2018.
Got cold beer, good WiFi and stunning landscape to see just from the hammock. Very recommendable, and a much better option to stay than directly at Epupa Falls. This place was one of our best camps on our whole Africa trip from Morocco to Cape Town.

Report Check-In
