For a sim card Airtel we paid too much at the border (10 000 CFA without crédit). then we went in a City just After the border to get a second one and we paid : 300N the sim card and 1500N for 5 gigas. Very easy to get in the next city if you ask someone to help get his resident card (against few money).

I took a Gozem from Cotonou to the border (7,500 cfa). Unfortunately, the taxi wasn't allowed to drive all the way to the border because it's a one-way street. I had to get out at a meeting point. At least I was able to change money there - at a somewhat poor exchange rate. Then completely overpriced motorised taxis drove to the border. Leaving the country was easy. I had to hand in my printed e-visa and answer a few questions. The motorised taxi then drove to Immigration Nigeria. Immigration took a very long time. After my passport was checked (visa was issued in Berlin), I had to go to an office where the head of immigration was probably sitting. He said I could enter the country. So I had to go back to the counter and answer countless questions. Unfortunately, I couldn't understand the Nigerians' English at all. After an eternity and with the help of locals who acted as translators, I received the entry stamp. I had to go to a second counter - no idea why - and fill out a form there and answer even more questions. It took an hour to leave and enter the country. The motorised taxi driver was supposed to take me to a bus or shared taxi, but he took me to a private taxi. He wanted 10,000 naira for the journey from Benin to Nigeria. After a discussion with the locals, I only gave him 2000 Naira.
The taxi driver wanted 70000 Naira to Lagos - after a long discussion I paid 40,000. I would have preferred to take the bus, but unfortunately the motorised taxi dropped me off somewhere else.
My advice: It's better to walk to the border - even if it's about 1.5 kilometres - and then look for a bus to Lagos. Otherwise you will be ripped off (although this will happen to you more often in Nigeria).

French passeport. No CPD.
Everything at the same place. The boss of the health service asked me some money because I don’t have meningyte, but after 15min I left for free cause I knew the vaccine was not needed).
Then I went to the customs, and after 3 hours of negotiation (they asked 50.000 naira), the drunk officer gave me the laissez-passer (don’t pay anything, it’s free).
You can also change money here : 600Fcfa for 1000 naira (they asked for 850Fcfa at the beginning, so try to negotiate).

These guys were beyond wonderful to me. I came here to my third border of the day trying to get into Nigeria. They gave me a 14 day passavant 18k niara for my car and looked after me all night long as I slept in my tent in the car park. Thank you so much guys!

Easy border. We entered with a tourist visa and had no problems. Some officers wanted some money but we didn’t pay anything. We bought a SIM card at the border because it seems difficult to get one elsewhere. Make sure to negotiate the price though! The lady wanted 9k CFA per Sim (no credit, no data included) from us. We ended up paying her 5k (still too much). Everyone was very friendly.

FRENCH PASSPORT. Very easy border. Friendly staff. All the steps Benin/Nigeria are at the same area : passeports / CPD - Laisser Passer. Nothing to pay. We didn't change money here (better rate in Lagos) and we also bought sim card in Lagos (MTN HQ)

I crossed from Benin to Nigeria today at Glogbo. Easy fast and super friendly. All offices at one spot.
- First health center Benin. Asket for all my vaccines and even scaned my Covid pass. The first boarder that did that in Africa. They even ask you if you gor the booster vaccine. Not shure if they also let you out without. I had it anyway. They asked if I could give them some "support" but where fine when I denied.
- Second check out stamp for passport. Had to show my online visa again. Bribe asked but ok when denied

(No custom office around and I did not ask for it cause I did not get a laisser passer when I entered and did not show my Carnet (i am on the motorcycle)) A police guy before the boarder was asking for it but let me pass without after I played stupid.

- Third is entry stamp of Nigeria. Brought me to the head master and ask me about my trip. Where exited to have me there and gave me one month and said I should get a second wife in Nigeria.

- Fourth is Customs Nigeria. They do Laisser passer for free or stamp the Carnet. I used the carnet. Really nice guys also

There is a Bank right after the boarder that accepted my Mastercard. First fuel station with fuel is about 20km from the boarder.

To the checkpoints. Yes there are a lot. Moast let me pass and just waved friendly. A few wanted to see my passport and let me trough. One office in the way wanted to see my vaccines and where complaining that I dont have menengitis. Said I have to pay them or go back to get it somewhere. But they never got angry and through I was talking to them I could leave after 5 minutes. Sounds anoying but it was a nice conversation everyone smiling at each other knowing what is going on.

Sincard you can get at the first bigger roundabout. But you need ti find a local that is willing to register it for you. Easyer if you choose GLO and not MTN cause all locals use MTN and can just register 2 cards in their name. 😉

All in all really good experience. I feel welcome and its a nice start in a new country
